The Haunting of Bly Manor landed on Netflix this week and plenty of horror-fans have already managed to binge their way through it.
The eagerly anticipated second season from the creators of The Haunting of Hill House has left viewers spooked, but also, slightly annoyed at the fact that the phrase 'perfectly splendid' seems to get bandied about every few minutes.

Little Flora, played brilliantly by nine-year-old Amelie Bea Smith, is the worst culprit, throwing the phrase around like it's going out of style and it did not go unnoticed.
Posting on Twitter one person asked: "How many times is this little girl gonna say 'perfectly splendid'?"
Someone else posted: "The Haunting of Bly Manor has me saying, 'perfectly splendid' in almost every sentence and it's hard to stop."

Another joked: "Y'all started The Haunting of Bly Manor yet? On edge already and it's only episode one. Ain't nothing 'perfectly splendid' about how high my blood pressure is man..."
Even the official The Haunting of Bly Manor Twitter account joined in on the action posting:
Surely that's promoting irresponsible drinking?

Meanwhile, other viewers were coming to the realisation that Smith is also the voice of Peppa Pig.
With one person posting: "The girl who played Flora voiced Peppa Pig? excuse me I can't."
Someone else wrote: "Flora is Peppa Pig and it's perfectly splendid."
The second season of the hit show is completely stand-alone from the first, meaning if you haven't got around to watching The Haunting of Hill House, you can drive straight into this one.

It's loosely based on the Henry James' 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw and alongside Smith, stars Victoria Pedretti, T'Nia Miller, Henry Thomas and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.
The Haunting of Bly Manor is streaming now on Netflix - I'm sure you'll think it's perfectly splendid.
