Every year the adverts that air during the Super Bowl garner almost as much attention as the event itself and 2021 was no exception with Toyota's offering leaving viewers feeling very emotional.

The advert features 13-time Paralympic gold medallist Jessica Long who had to have her legs amputated when she was just 18-months old due to a condition called fibular hemimelia.

The heart-warming advert tells the story of Long's adoption as a baby, while reflecting on her incredible journey to become a swimmer.

It begins with Long swimming, before showing a scene in which an adoption agency calls up her soon-to-be mum to tell her they've found her a baby girl, but warns there 'are some things you need to know'.

The woman adds: "She's in Siberia and she was born with a rare condition. Her legs will need to be amputated.

"I know this is difficult to hear. Her life, it won't be easy."

Before Mrs Long responds: "It might not be easy, but it'll be amazing. I can't wait to meet her."

The dialogue is interspersed with flashback clips showing an actor playing a younger version of Long learning how to walk using crutches and prosthetic legs.

The advert finishes with a voice over that says: "We believe there is hope and strength in all of us."

It ends with: "Toyota. Proud partner of Team USA."

The sweet advert gave viewers at home all the feels, with one person writing: "My top #SuperBowl ad so far is the @Toyota adoption ad. Well done."

Another said: "As the dad of an adopted daughter, this #SuperBowl ad leads in the first half. Kudos, @Toyota."

While a third posted: "Favourite commercial so far. What a story! Well done Toyota."

A fourth wrote: "It might not be easy, but it'll be amazing!" WOW. I'm not crying you're crying #superbowl #suberbowlcommercial #toyota."

Toyota then shared a clip from Long herself, in which she thanked her parents calling them her 'biggest support system'.

She then went on to thank all 'selfless' parents who 'make it look so easy even when there are tough times and tough moments'.

Long was just 12-years-old when she made her first Paralympic appearance at the 2004 Athens Games.

She was the youngest competitor on the US Paralympic Team, but despite her age went on to win three gold medals.
