Britain's Got Talent audience member says one major part of show that you see on TV is 'fake'

Some people reckon all is not what it seems.

Some Britain's Got Talent viewers have found a new thing to complain about, and this time it's the audience.

There's already been a monumental amount of moaning about a contestant actually having (shock horror) performed before, while some people genuinely wrote in to Ofcom to complain about an audition where a woman burped along to a song.

That's right, some people were so upset at the sight and sound of a woman burping that they wrote in letters of complaint.

Others threatened to call the regulator and have a whinge after Simon Cowell pressed the golden buzzer for a particular act, as though it's not his decision when to do that.

Now, someone claiming to have been an audience member has chipped in to the discussion to say that the show 'pre-record your reactions' so not everything you're seeing on screen is from the moment.

It came after a slew of social media comments from people believing that the audience reactions you see on Britain's Got Talent don't 'sound genuine'.

Another said they 'do not like how it was edited', while a third said the audience reactions were 'worse than Goggleboxes' (sic) which is a bit odd considering that show is nothing but audience reaction and has been very popular for years.

According to The Sun, another viewer claimed that the 'audience are fluffed to within an inch of their lives by warm up acts' and 'told to react big' while the camera would 'focus on the most demonstratively excited audience members'.

Also, if we want to go down this particular rabbit hole it's important to acknowledge just how much of what we see on TV is filmed or edited to look a bit more spectacular.

When watching along at home it looks like the audience has quite the impact on the judge's decisions.

Once they start chanting and cheering for an act you know they're pretty much guaranteed to be going through.

You get to see plenty of what's going on in the crowd during the performances as well, as sometimes the camera will focus on a friend or family member who is cheering them on from the stalls.

Audience reactions are usually a decent way to gauge how an act is going to be received as well, if you're seeing a bunch of reaction shots of people not enjoying what they're seeing then you're probably unlikely to lay eyes on them at the live shows.

Whether you love them or not, the show would be very different and rather diminished if the audience wasn't actually there, there's a reason why they do this thing in front of a big audience.
