Upset BGT viewers threaten to call Ofcom as Simon Cowell gives out Golden Buzzer to controversial choice

One particular factor annoyed a number of Britain's Got Talent viewers

Britain's Got Talent never fails to disappoint, and viewers of last night's episode were treated to a Golden Buzzer performance.

However, a number of viewers were left enraged online after seeing the group that had been bestowed the honour.

Last night's (27 April) airing of Britain's Got Talent featured numerous acts, including an emotional performance that had fans wiping their tears away.

Other acts that impressed last night were a beatboxing group called Sarukani, a drone operator called Keiichiro Tani and dance troupe Cyberagent Legit, who actually all hailed from Japan.

An American pastor also showcased his keyboard skills, with the vocal assistance of some dogs and donkeys - as you do.

But one of these groups stole the limelight completely, being rewarded by the picky and particular Simon Cowell with the highly sought-after Golden Buzzer.

Cyberagent Legit were over the moon to be given the golden buzzer, given out only to the best and most exceptional performances, and had golden confetti rain down on them on stage while they were in disbelief.

However, some fans online didn't feel like they deserved it for one specific reason.

Some viewers were enraged, taking to X, formerly Twitter, to voice their discontent.

One said: "Can Ofcom look at this like the trade descriptions act?! A very misleading name for a TV show!"

Another put: "Why am I watching Japan’s got talent?"

The backlash mostly centred around the fact that numerous foreign acts were performing on the British talent show, though not all viewers were upset.

A different viewer said: "Dynamic, dynamite dance group!"

And another put: "Another well deserved golden buzzer! So happy for them!"

Fair to say it's been a mixed bag, but the group probably won't care too much.

Consisting of dancers between the ages of 20 and 28, their routine was choreographed to their own music - yes, they made the tune and danced to it, all on their own. Impressive.

The judges were in disbelief, and all four gave them a standing ovation.

When evaluating the performance, Cowell said: "Amazing! That was fantastic, that was my favourite act of the day actually. Really, really, really good."

Following some encouragement and cheering from the crowd to give them the golden buzzer, he eventually gave in and pushed the elite button.

A member of the group later said: "This is a dream come true for us."

Cowell then added: "This is the kind of act you want in a competition, it was really so good.

"And I could see how much time had gone into that, everyone in this theatre was rooting for you."
