Clarkson’s Farm viewers are being left baffled by a vital element of his pub and Diddly Squat projects.
This comes after the release of Clarkson’s Farm season four, the final two episodes of which will drop on Prime Video this Friday, June 6.
The newest season of the TV show features Clarkson beginning a new journey as he looks to become a pub landlord for the first time.

He faces a number of obstacles, including but not limited to: His ongoing years long feud with local councils, a camping site that was previously known for its reputation amongst the dogging community, and coming up with a rule for the food and drink at his pub that would see him lose £10 for every customer.
Despite this, last August, he was able to open his pub. The newest season, however, has left fans with a major question about how his pub and farm projects actually work.

One fan took to the r/ClarksonsFarm subreddit, questioning ‘how much cash’ Clarkson is really spending.
They said: “If there’s one takeaway from Clarkson’s Farm Season 4, it’s this: [Jeremy] is absolutely loaded.

“The man is casually haemorrhaging £40-50K every 25 minutes, and nobody even flinches.”
Another noticed a similar detail when Clarkson has one of his builders come round to look at the potential pubs he is looking to purchase.
They commented: “I love how casual his builder is about costs, knowing he'll get paid whatever happens.”
A second fan agreed, joking: “5 minute look around.... 4 and a half hundred. 50k contingency.”

Others pointed to how much Clarkson has made in the past, saying: “Back when he worked for the BBC, his salary was around £1,000,000 per year. I expect he was paid more by Amazon. He had enough to buy a £6 million farm 20 years ago.
“All three of the Top Gear / Grand Tour presenters were very well paid. Hammond lives in a Grade II listed mock-castle, for example.
“Plus, all the money being put into businesses is an investment. The idea is for them to be profitable, albeit with the safety net of his Amazon fee in case things don't pan out.”
Since his £6 million purchase of the farm, which he took over in 2019, Clarkson has spent mountains of cash on the farm itself.
Speaking at an event ahead of the release of season three, the presenter stated he had spent £108,000 on growing food in the year prior.

This does not factor in his expensive projects, with his new pub costing him close to £1 million, and Clarkson paying Richard Hammond £20,000 just to chrome his tractor for display in the pub.
As pointed out by the Reddit commenter, an essential detail is the fact that Clarkson is paid a mountain of cash by Amazon to keep the show going.
The presenter was paid a reported £160 million for a three season deal with Amazon for Clarkson’s Farm and is sure to have earned similar figures for season four.
Whilst his pub may be losing £10 for every customer, and the pub may have cost a huge amount to purchase and set up, the renewed interest it will bring to the show will surely more than pay for itself.
