Harlan Coben's highest rated drama series isn't available on Netflix

Harlan Coben has a series rated higher than Fool Me Once, but it cannot be found on the same platform.

Harlan Coben has been in the limelight for all the right reasons in early 2024, with his series Fool Me Once taking the world by storm, and currently sitting at number one on Netflix's top picks.

The crime thriller series is based on the book of the same name and has accrued millions of viewers since hitting the streaming platform.

The Netflix series has a cast stacked with big names, with Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, Emmett J. Scanlan, and Joanna Lumley making up some of the main cast.

Fans of the series are even demanding a spin-off with the two characters heading up the police force in the show, underlining its success with viewers.

However, as good as this series is, it is not Coben's highest rated series according to viewers.

In fact, it's far from it as Fool Me Once currently sits on a 48% audience score and 60% on the tomatometer on renowned review site Rotten Tomatoes.

Coben's highest rated show boasts a score of 88% on the tomatometer, with an audience score average of 79%, a lot higher than Fool Me Once.

The name of the series in question is Shelter, though it actually is not available on Netflix, instead being available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

You can check out the trailer below:

Shelter is a mystery drama series centred around Mickey, a high school student with a mother in rehab, a father who died, and an annoying aunt in New Jersey. However, he starts to lose his mind after a creepy old woman tells him that his father is still alive.

Coben himself also clearly rates Shelter as one of his better shows, posting on X with the series poster: "To you gorgeous people who discovered us through Netflix, might we suggest Shelter on ⁦@PrimeVideo? All 8 episodes are now streaming."

One X user said: "Harlan Coben’s Shelter on Prime .. was really good for it to only be 8 episodes!"

Another added: "yall should watch Harlan Coben’s Shelter on amazon prime. omfg sooo good if you haven’t read the book."

On a sadder note, fans are fuming that Shelter won't be returning for a second series as it was cancelled by the streamer in November of last year. So, you might not want to binge it all at once if you do decide to give it a watch.

One fumed X user wrote: "so I just finished watching Harlan Coben’s Shelter on prime video which was amazing btw but just to find out it’s been canceled and there’s no second season SMH SMH SMH."

A second added: "I just fou[n]d out that they cancelled Harlan Coben' Shelter. I am devastated. What in the entire F*ck," with three crying emojis for good measure.

If the ratings are anything to go by, this series might have a resurgence in viewers, and 2024 might just be the year of Harlan Coben.
