Ant and Dec issued ‘scary’ warning ahead of I’m A Celeb 2023 return

Ant and Dec issued ‘scary’ warning ahead of I’m A Celeb 2023 return

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! hosts have been warned to stay vigilant while they're Down Under.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have reportedly been given a 'scary' warning ahead of this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

The dynamic duo are in Australia getting ready for the highly-anticipated return of the series on 19 November.

But although the episodes may look seamless when we're watching from home, things aren't always running as smoothly behind the scenes.

Ant and Dec have already been on alert after an incident involving a shotgun-wielding robber close to the celebrity camp.

Police are reportedly still hunting a gunman who fired a shot at a service station in Tweed Valley Way, Murwillumbah, late last month.

Now Ant and Dec have to be on their toes even after wrapping up filming and heading back to the the safety of the luxury apartment they're staying in for the duration of I'm A Celeb.

A highly venomous snake has been spotted slithering around just yards from their base Down Under in recent days.

Signs have been put up near a beach in Kingscliff, New South Wales, after a 'large brown snake' was seen in the area.

It is feared that the deadly reptile could be an Eastern Brown Snake - which is the world's second-most venomous land serpent.

They can grow up to 7ft in length and are responsible for more fatal bites in Australia every year than any other snakes.

The species are known to be fast movers, bad tempered, aggressive and packed with a powerful venom that can kill.

A show source told the Mirror: "Ant and Dec will have to keep their eyes peeled when on the beach and in the surrounding area.

"The snake has been spotted exactly where they hang out between shows and brown snakes are not to be messed with.

"Snakes are part of Aussie life but it is still scary to think one of these was slithering around so close by."

This lot are obviously a lot more dangerous than the non-deadly snakes celebrities face in bush tucker trials.

Eastern Brown Snakes thrive in populated areas, particularly on farms in rural locations with a large amount of mice.

The fearsome reptiles are so fast that they are thought to outpace a human running at full speed.

When disturbed, the vipers menacingly rise their bodies from the ground and coil their necks into an 'S' shape.

They open their mouths wide to show off their venom-filled jaws, ready to strike at any second without hesitation.

Their bites are generally painless and because the snakes move so quickly, an injury can sometimes be hard to detect.

But you need to seek medical attention without delay if you are struck by an Eastern Brown Snake.

It's venom triggers progressive paralysis, which causes uncontrollable bleeding as it stops the victim's blood from clotting - and they are likely to collapse within just a few minutes.

Numerous doses of anti-venom are needed to reverse the effects.

A brown snake invaded the I'm A Celeb camp back in 2017, although it was quickly removed before it had the chance to get it's jaws round one of the stars.

Medic Bob McCarron revealed at the time: "We keep it quiet from the celebrities in camp but I removed a venomous brown tree snake actually climbing along the drawbridge where Ant and Dec walk every day."
