The BBC has finally confirmed the date that the second series of a gritty crime drama everyone is raving about will hit screens.

The series is something for crime lovers, with the first season of the fan-favourite show boasting a flawless score of 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer.

It has an impressive cast too, starring the likes of Game of Thrones' Aidan Gillen and Ciarán Hinds as rival gang members in the Irish series.

Also part of the cast is Fool Me Once's Emmett J. Scanlan, Daredevil's Charlie Cox and The Witcher's Francis McGee among others.

Co-created by Peter McKenna and Ciaran Donnelly, the series follows the Kinsellas crime family who are based in Dublin, Ireland.

The family are increasingly at odds with a powerful drug cartel, but chaos ensues when the erratic son of Frank Kinsella (played by Gillen) gets into a scuffle with one of Eamon's (Hinds) men as the Cunninghams hit back.

The series is titled Kin, and was first broadcast on AMC in 2021.

Season 2 of Kin is coming to BBC this February.

Luckily for Kin fans, it has been confirmed that season two of the series will return to screens on Tuesday 13 February on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Season one of the crime-drama is still available on BBC iPlayer, and Brits have been huge fans of the gripping show.

However, fans have been itching for season two to be released, with it not being accessible to UK viewers despite coming out in the summer on RTÉ.

They have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share their support for the show.

One user said: "If you haven’t watched Kin on bbc iplayer then watch it!! so good".

Another posted: "Kin on BBC - gritty and bingeable".

A third said: "Any news on the date S2 of KIN is released on BBC mate? Hooked and got withdrawals. Inbox me if you cant say. Il only tell the wife…"

I'll bet the third bloke is absolutely buzzing now.

Aiden Gillen stars in the gritty crime-drama.

"All I will say is if you found the first series exciting and engrossing, just wait until you see the twists and turns in series two!" said Head of Programme Acquisition, Sue Deeks.

Jennifer Ebell, EVP of EMEA Sales and Acquisitions at FIFTH SEASON, also said: "The Kinsellas are back and the stakes are higher than ever. Season two of this family crime drama is explosive and we are pleased the BBC joins the growing number of our international partners."

Mark your calendars, Kin fans - binge-watching date is near.
