Paramount have banned five South Park episodes due to 'deeply offensive' imagery

It takes a seriously offensive joke to get South Park cancelled

South Park's creators like to toe the line with their jokes, but five episodes have been banned completely by Paramount due to the 'deeply offensive' imagery depicted.

The animated comedy show has hit the headlines again recently after Season 27 was released, with Trey Parker and Matt Stone taking aim at President Donald Trump and his controversial policies in both episodes so far.

In episode one, the 79-year-old is seen in bed with Satan, who he tries to seduce, only to be told that his penis is 'so small' that it wouldn't be able to do anything anyway.

While the White House were less than impressed, South Park fans have been lapping it up, with the $1.5 billion invested by Paramount seemingly a good investment given how popular it has become since targeting Trump and the Republican party.

In the second episode, the show takes an extreme view of Trump's controversial crackdown on immigration, with Dora the Explorer deported to an island where she is forced to give massages to old men. I'll let you work out what the comedy might be referencing there.

But even with one of the world's most powerful men after them, South Park and Paramount presumably have no plans to remove their episodes depicting Trump, especially after their so-called apology at a recent event.

However, they were forced to take more extreme action after five previous episodes were banned completely, due to them featuring an image of the Prophet Muhammad.

Season 5 Episode 3 – ‘Super Best Friends’, Season 10 Episode 3 – ‘Cartoon Wars Part I’, Season 10 Episode 4 – ‘Cartoon Wars Part II’, Season 14 Episode 5 – ‘200’, Season 14 Episode 6 – ‘201’ were all banned by Paramount and aren't available online, so you'll need to own a physical DVD (remember those) if you want to watch them.

The original first three episodes seemingly went unnoticed but when '200' and '201' were released in 2010, it prompted a huge backlash from the Islamic community, as prohibited for the prophet to be pictured in any way.

Comedy Central took no risks when the episodes aired, with the image of Muhammad censored, while Kyle's speech about threats and violence was also entirely bleeped out.

Since then, the five episodes haven't been streamed once, so any die-hard fans will have to get the box sets if they want to see them in all their glory.

Who knows, perhaps future generations will be wondering why Trump is completely censored in the historic episodes from 2025, but despite the backlash, it seems unlikely that we will see changes there anytime soon.
