John Cena series confirms horrifying fan theory with viewers' 'jaws on the floor’
John Cena’s new series Peacemaker has confirmed a horrifying fan theory in its latest episode, leaving viewers’ jaws ‘on the floor’.
The series, which follows Cena’s The Suicide Squad character Peacemaker, has been a surprising success for DC.
Though many still know Cena for his WWE career, which is coming to an end later this year as he concludes his ‘retirement tour’, the actor has received widespread critical acclaim for his role in the show.
In addition to its 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, the TV show has developed a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have been developing some crazy theories about the show’s second season.

Season two of the show sees John Cena’s Chris, aka Peacemaker, discontented with his life when he discovers another dimension.
In this world, Peacemaker isn’t a small-time vigilante, he is the most beloved superhero in the world, alongside his dad and brother, both of whom are dead in Chris’ reality.
Whilst the world Cena’s Peacemaker finds seems idyllic, fans have long theorised what may be wrong with it, spotting background details, and the truth behind this other world was revealed in the newest episode.

Throughout the second season, eagle-eyed fans had spotted one particular detail about this other world they felt was not a coincidence: every single character and background character was white.
The show’s first season had already dealt with white supremacists as Peacemaker’s father was a neo-Nazi super-villain with links to the KKK, leading many to question what could lead the Peacemaker of this new world and his father to reconcile.
In episode six, the absolutely bonkers theories were proven true when some of Peacemaker’s friends came across to this alternative world to try and bring him back from his supposed idyllic life.
The sole black main character on the show Ads, played by Danielle Brooks, goes for a walk only to have random neighbours glaring at her.
This culminates in Peacemaker’s alternate reality brother spotting her and pulling over before yelling: “One got out! A black!”
She begins running away as the whole neighbourhood starts to chase her in a horrifying departure from the show’s mostly comedic tone, with Cena’s Peacemaker at the same time finding an American flag with a Nazi swastika in place of 50 stars.
Fans were, understandably, horrified and shocked by this reveal, with many praising the show’s build to this wild moment.
One fan posted on X, saying: “‘One got out’ is f*cking crazy, like where the hell are they keeping all the people of colour in this dimension?”
Another posting was one of the many fans to predict this twist, who said: “What’s so great about tonight’s episode of Peacemaker is that I totally anticipated everything that happened, but my jaw was still on the floor by the end of the episode. I mean, WOW.”
Speaking about the twist on the Peacemaker Podcast, creator James Gunn said that he wanted to be as sensitive as possible.
He said: “One person I talked to a lot about it was Danielle Brooks because I wanted to make sure, we were being really sensitive… to be as careful as possible.”
Gunn hinted that the final two episodes of the season are ‘crazy’ with many fans hotly anticipating what happens next.
