The Boys viewers urged to turn on Amazon feature to avoid ‘missing half of jokes’ on show

Make sure you turn on the Amazon Prime feature for The Boys season four

Is there anything worse than watching a show and finding out on Twitter later you missed a brilliant moment?

Few things can make me feel as left out as realising after the fact that a great joke, or clever reference went over my head.

This is a feeling a lot of The Boys fans will be experiencing today, as one viewer posted on Twitter to point out a vital Amazon feature most will have turned off.

Check out the trailer for the newest season of the hit supe show below:

With the first three episodes dropping on Amazon Prime last week, all talk has been on The Boys – as viewers lap up the gore, violence, and x-rated scenes you wouldn’t find anywhere else.

But, for one scene, there was a hilarious joke hidden behind an optional Amazon feature.

Amazon Prime has an interactive UI called ‘X-Ray’, meaning if you let it – it will pop up with who is on screen while watching – as well as little bits of trivia.

Fast-forward to The Boys season four, and there is a scene where one superhero with the ability to clone himself is…

There’s no better way to put this than ‘human centipeding himself’.

The sequence had viewers disgusted, with it maybe being the most x-rated scene of the many x-rated scenes that have appeared in The Boys.

But if you had the option for trivia to pop up, you’d be pi**ing yourself laughing.

During this scene where actor Rob Benedict depicts a superhero eating himself out in a long chain around a sauna – the following bit of trivia appears on screen: “Actor Rob Benedict wants us to remind everyone that he studied Shakespeare at Northwestern University.

“There is no contractual obligation for us to carry out this request. This is merely a kind gesture”.

I'm sure this will help everyone keep that in mind during this scene. (Amazon Prime)

This was noticed by Alex Zalben on Twitter who posted: “If you're not watching The Boys with Prime Video's X-Ray feature on, you're missing half the jokes."

This also led to fans pointing out another scene, where we are re-introduced to Ambrosius – an octopus who The Deep (again no better way to put this) f**ks.

The X-Ray feature pops up on screen during this scene to say: “Ambrosius is voice by none other than Academy award winning actress, Tilda Swinton. This is not a joke.”

This feature has another benefit in this case – if you’re like me you were listening to the octopus talking going… no… surely not.
