The Traitors fans call for major rule changes for season four after disappointment at ‘terrible’ finale

Viewers have called for a major rule change for season four of The Traitors

If you watched the season three finale of The Traitors, it's likely you were slightly disappointed by what ended up being a rather anti-climactic finish to the show.

No ending to season three was likely ever going to be able to top how season two finished, with Harry dramatically influencing Molly to change her vote, only for it to be revealed he was a Traitor and had been lying to her all along.

This time round, the introduction of ‘The Seer’ meant that Francesca knew that Charlotte was a Traitor and led to the pair of them being banished along with Alexander, crowning Leanne and Jake the winners.

Due to Charlotte being banished after the Seer role was used, many fans were disappointed that the last twenty minutes of the episode took place entirely with Faithfuls.

Reactions to the BBC show’s finale saw fans calling it ‘sh*t’, with one viewer tweeting: “I’m sorry I thought #TheTraitorsfinal was sh*t, such an unsatisfying end to a great series.

“The twist ruined it and it was just a she said/she said situation, with the two least likeable players winning it all. Boo.”

This wasn't unanimous however, with another fan saying: “Amazing TV. People moaning and being cruel about the winners will ruin the show. Why can't people just enjoy good TV and celebrate all characters.”

The ending to the season has led to some fans calling for some major rule changes moving forward.

The most common suggestion was simple - get rid of The Seer stipulation.

One fan said: “The Seer introduction took away the jeopardy and that gob-smacking moment every Traitors series finale has had so far.

“It made it so predictable and was completely unnecessary. Sack it off for next year, lads.”

Another wrote: “Charlottes' antics and behaviour as a traitor made the series entertaining.

“Such a pity 'The Seer' idea ruined what could have been a very interesting finale.”

Meanwhile, a fan account called ‘Traitors HQ’ suggested some overall show-wide changes that could be brought in to spice things up.

They suggested the following changes could be made for season four:

- "Traitors are chosen at random. Names are picked out of a hat.

- "Players can win a shield from banishment, not just murder at some point.

- "One Traitor is kept secret from the audience (achieved through editing, voice distortion, wearing a cloak in the turret - or they're somehow edited out altogether).

- "Less screen time for the challenges (unless it's necessary) & more screen time for conversations between the players in the castle."

'Traitors HQ' added: "I liked the twist and thought the finale was excellent… only change I’d make is the Traitors in the very beginning should be picked out of a hat. To make it really fair."

The suggestions went down a hit with fans, with one replying offering up another commonly desired rule change.

They responded: “If they keep the no identity reveals at the fire pit, I’d like to see them lose money if they banish a Faithful.

“Gives them an incentive to trust, otherwise it’s in their interest to keep banishing until there’s only two left.”

Either way, we will all be watching.
