Vin Diesel was 'excited' to bring controversial member back for Fast X post credits scene

Vin Diesel was 'excited' to bring controversial member back for Fast X post credits scene

One very familiar face is making their return.

Vin Diesel has seemingly ended a feud with one of his fellow Fast and Furious cast members in a twist that is sure to delight fans of the franchise.

WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR FAST X. THIS IS YOUR ONE AND FINAL WARNING.

Fans of The Rock, it's time to get your engines started because Dwayne Johnson has officially returned to the Fast and Furious family in a post-credits scene for Fast X.

The return of Johnson is a massive surprise for fans after he publicly declined Diesel’s request to rejoin the revved-up series during 2021 in the wake of the two stars’ public feud.

The pair had been engaged in a row since at least 2016, which worsened when Diesel implied he had to use 'tough love' on set with The Rock.

He told Men's Health: "I could give a lot of tough love. Not Felliniesque, but I would do anything I'd have to do in order to get performances in anything I'm producing."

Diesel then took to Instagram to call out Johnson directly: "The world awaits the finale of Fast 10."

"I told you years ago that I was going to fulfil my promise to [Paul Walker]. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10," he added.

In an interview with CNN, Johnson also revealed he had relayed that information to Diesel privately after he took to social media to apply pressure to The Rock to rejoin the Fast and Furious cast.

"I was very surprised by Vin’s recent post. This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly — and privately — that I would not be returning to the franchise," Johnson said.

"I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return.

"I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem."

He added: "I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it."

He went on to wish the Fast and Furious family 'the best of luck' as they continued the saga.

But that next chapter now apparently includes Johnson.

Talk about a plot twist.

In the post-credits scene during Fast X, a tactical team can be seen conducting a search for something.

The scene shows one tactical officer, who is clad from head to toe and black and had their identity concealed by a face mask and goggles, reaches for their phone as it rings.

While the phone screen clearly states 'No Caller ID', there is an unmistakable voice on the other end of the line: Jason Momoa's Dante.

"You’ve done some dastardly dirty deeds, Sheriff," Momoa's character can be heard saying.

"Dom (Vin Diesel) drove the car, but you pulled the trigger," he says as footage from Fast Five shows Johnson's character, Hobbs, shoot and kill Dante’s father.

Dante continues his threats in the mid-credits scene: "Now I’m going to make you suffer. The devil is coming for you, lawman."

The camera then pulls in tighter on the person's face, who we now know as Johnson's Hobbs.

"Well, I ain’t hard to find, you sumb***h," Johnson growls in the scene.

So there you have it.

Fast X officially has more twists than a hook turn. Yee haw.

Diesel told Variety about the moment: "I’m so excited to have them back home and even more excited to see fan reactions and to see how happy it makes people.”
