With Valentine’s Day less than 48 hours away, men are rushing to buy a ‘super seductive’ aphrodisiac fragrance that's made with pheromones.

Whether you’re looking to spice up a long-term relationship or have a hot date on the cards, the £6 scent is designed to ‘ignite a connection that’s both intense and unforgettable’.

It contains the same ingredients as the brand’s popular pheromone spray for women - which has garnered some seriously rave reviews.

“I had a first date lined up in the afternoon, so I put some [of the perfume] on my wrists and behind my ears,” one five-star review reads, adding that the date was a success. "Seriously recommend. This should come with a caution warning.”

Another wrote, “The aphrodisiac range is super seductive! I always get amazing comments when I'm wearing it and my partner loves it a lot!”

“My favourite scent!” a third said. “It smells divine and I can take it with me everywhere in this cute handy size! Everyone compliments the smell when I wear it!”

So, do pheromone sprays really work?

Designed to attract men or women, the £6 aphrodisiac perfume is infused with pheromones. Pheromones are essentially chemical signals that humans and animals use to communicate on a subconscious level. It's believed pheromones are heightened during the mating process.

Our bodies can secrete these chemicals through sweat and other bodily fluids. Lots of research has been conducted into animal pheromones but whether or not human pheromones play a role in our love lives is still up for debate.

According to the National Library of Medicine, the existence of pheromones in humans 'remains uncertain' but some data does indicate that '16-androstene pheromones, in particular androstadienone, play a beneficial role in women’s mood, focus and sexual response, and perhaps also in mate selection'.

It's also worth noting that the perfume may have a placebo effect on us, which would explain why some people have reported higher feelings of ‘sexiness’ after using the pheromone perfume in the reviews section. But whatever works, right?

What is the £6 pheromone spray everyone is talking about?

We’re talking about the Aphrodisiac 10ml Spray available on the Ann Summers website for £6. There are two options available for men and women. The male version of the scent is deep and sensual with base notes of amber, musk, suede, and patchouli.

But if you’re keen to impress in time for Valentine’s Day, then you’ll need to hurry. The last standard delivery date is 6pm today (Wednesday, 12 February) and tomorrow at 7pm for next-day delivery. Good luck out there.
