Sharing the same values, Ali and Charlie met on a dating app back in 2018 before going on to wed in 2021.
And while it’s traditional that what would follow is becoming parents, the pair are happily a ‘DINK’ couple. For those not in with the lingo, that simply means they share a dual income and have no kids. Although, they do share two dogs, ‘their entire world’, Roscoe and Remy.
While this kind of lifestyle is totally normal to plenty of people, others find it controversial as they shun the more traditional, old expectations, in their relationship.
But Ali and Charlie are proud of the life they lead, even building a social app for couples without kids to ‘live fully, connect freely’ and create a community. And they don’t regret it.

The pair regularly share content about their lifestyle, explaining their decisions and the benefits they have as a result.
And in one Instagram post, they listed the things ‘no one tells you once you’ve made the decision to remain childfree’.
The first is apparently that the ‘peace feels different’.
“There’s a quiet confidence in knowing you chose your life on purpose,” they write as the couple continue: “2. Some friendships will shift. Not because you did anything wrong, just because life rhythms change.”
The third thing is apparently that people will project their fears onto you. “Regret. ‘What if.’ It’s going to annoy you, but drown out the noise,” Ali and Charlie explain before adding their final: “4. You’ll build community more intentionally than most. Because when parenthood isn’t your built-in group, you go find your people.
“And honestly? That part changes everything.”
Ali and Charlie have also said that they are ‘always asked’ top explain their decision not to have kids.

And they slam this with the response: “Yet parents are never asked to explain their reason for bringing new life into this world. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”
The DINK couple say it’s not ‘regret’ that most people feel but rather ‘disconnection’.
“It’s friendships changing,” they explain. “It’s not being in the same phase of life anymore.
“It’s having the time, energy and freedom, but not always the people to share it with.”
That’s a reason why they created their DINK Social app to help connect childfree couples so they can ‘find people who actually understand without needing to explain their life choices’.
So, they’re firm that leading their DINK lifestyle ‘isn’t lonely’ while people may question the decision.
