The CEO of McDonald's has announced plans to bring items from its spin-off restaurant to the regular menu.
Back in 2023, McDonald's launched a brand new spin-off restaurant in the US called CosMc's, which is based on a little-known mascot from outer space.
McDonald's described CosMc's as 'a new small-format, beverage-led concept that’s truly out of this world'.

A press release from McDonald's at the time explained: "Inspired by nostalgia and powered by a menu of bold, refreshing beverages and tasty treats, CosMc's is landing earthside for us humans to enjoy.

"CosMc’s seamlessly blends brand-new, otherworldly beverage creations with a small lineup of food, including a select few McDonald's favourites - all designed to boost your mood into the stratosphere, if only for a few moments."
Now, CEO Chris Kempczinski has said that McDonald's will be working with some of the CosMc's franchises to bring a selection of their beverages onto standard menus.
"It’s part of why we set up beverages as one of our key three category structures - just because of the opportunity that we saw there," he said during an earnings call.

It's not yet clear which items could be arriving in US franchises, but the New York Post reports that, according to a press release from earlier this year, some of CosMc's bestsellers included the Island Pick Me Up Punch, Churro Cold Brew Frappe and the Sour Energy Burst.

Over on Instagram, foodie page @snackbetch shared a post with what they hope makes the menu, including the Popping Pear Slush and the Sprite Moonsplash.
They wrote: "Big McDonald’s News!!
"CosMc’s beverages are headed to existing McDonald’s restaurant menus!

"The CEO of McDonald’s has confirmed plans to launch a test of these beverage offerings later this year. The trial will take place in select McDonald’s restaurants across the United States and will feature drinks inspired by the unique menu items from CosMc’s.
"This is an exciting step toward bringing more drink variety to McDonald’s menus nationwide."

In other McDonald's news, one of the fan-favourite burgers at McDonald's, the Steakhouse Stack, has just made a return to restaurants in the UK.
The Biscoff McFlurry has also returned a year after it was removed, for £2.29 or £1.69 for a mini, while the Biscoff Frappe is available at £3.09.

When it comes to meals, the McSpicy X Frank's RedHot burger is back on the menu.
It consists of a chicken breast in a hot and crispy coating, crunchy lettuce, cheese made with Emmental, jalapeños, slivered onions, and, of course, a decent helping of Frank’s RedHot Mayo, all in a toasted sesame seed bun for £5.99 on its own or £7.99 as a meal.
