Luckily, there's alternatives you can get your hands on before the weekend if you missed out on the Lidl air conditioners

While most of us have stayed indoors today (25 June), blinds and windows closed as we do everything we can to stay cool, others spent it outside seeking other resources.

That’s as while air conditioning is typically viewed as a bit of a luxury here, Lidl had an offer on to make it far more accessible.

But with the cheap deal launched in stores across the UK this morning, it quickly led to queues outside as Brits desperately hoped to get their hands on a unit.

Lidl introduced a whole air con and fan range, with its star product being the Tronic 3-in-1 Air Conditioner at £149. However, it’s reported that these quickly sold out in most shops across the country.

But all hope’s not lost – there’s plenty of units available on Amazon to equip yourself for the heatwave.

Lidl’s special product features three operating modes; air conditioning, fan cooling and dehumidifying.

And making it more appealing, along with its two fan speeds, the unit has transport wheels so Brits can move it around their home to keep cool wherever the are.

It just seems you had to get up and out early this morning to queue at your local store in a bid to get one.

But of course, to cop one on Amazon, with Prime Day Deals also available, you don’t need to so much as get up off the sofa.

First up, priced at £39.99 is the JML Air Cooler, Portable Fan and Humidifier. The Chillmax Air Pure Chill 2.0 features four speed settings, dual mist spray jets and evaporative hydro-chill filter.

Billed as an alternative air conditioning unit, it measures in at 14.6D x 17W x 16.3H centimetres and users say it’s a ‘great little air cooler’ and particularly useful at your desk when working from home in the heatwave.

Some add that it’s not the most effective at cooling a whole room but is very affordable.

At a slightly higher price point, there is the SereneLife Air Conditioning Unit currently available for £299.99.

Tipped as an Air Conditioner 12000 btu, it offers three operating modes: cooling, dehumidifier and fan.

So, not only does it work as a portable air con unit but it can reduce humidity levels.

It measures in at 34D x 44W x 82H centimetres and weighs 28.63kg.

Reviews say it ‘cools the room quickly and keeps the temperature comfortable even on very hot days’ as it’s a ‘life saver in heatwaves’.

Some have complained about the noise it makes as they say they can’t sleep with it on but it does cool rooms ‘nicely’.

The WINIX 5300-2 Air Purifier (Amazon)

And on the note of working on the air in your room, the WINIX 5300-2 Air Purifier is currently available on Prime Day Deal at £99 down from £149.99.

The unit works to clean indoor air every 10 minutes from the likes of allergies, pollen, dust particles, mold spores and cigarette smoke. This means that while your room might get quite hot and sticky, the device keeps purifying the air.

It measures in at 20.8D x 38.1W x 59.9H centimetres and weighs 6.7kg.

Reviews say it’s ‘very easy to set up’, is ‘very powerful’ and even that it’s ‘better than advertised’.
