The surgeon who performed forehead reconstruction surgery on a woman has been comparing the 'before' and 'after' pictures of his work.

Essex woman Beth Halsey had been bullied and called a 'fivehead' in her school days, and for more than two decades had spent her time attempting to cover up her forehead with a fringe.

However, nervous about going outside lest the wind tear away the flap of hair obscuring her forehead and wanting to do something about it, she ended up spending £9,000 on surgery and was very happy with the results.

She said: "For some people having a fringe is absolutely fine but for me it got to the point where I then started hating the fringe as well as the forehead.

"I didn't want to be stuck with it forever.

"When people say 'there's nothing wrong with me' that's not the compliment people think it is.

Here's Beth before her surgery.

"It comes across as quite patronising. I know I don't have to have this surgery but it's going to change my life and it has.

"I never knew surgery was an option. I learnt about this surgery, looked into it and went for the consultation and it was all amazing.

"They try to keep it looking natural and make sure your face still looks in proportion. My hairline was lowered by about an inch or just under."

That sounds like one very satisfied customer, and now surgeon Gregor Bran has been sharing some of the before and after pictures.

And here she is after.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a video the woman made packed with images from her procedure and what she looked like now.

"Beth came to see me as her forehead has been the biggest insecurity for as long as she can remember. We performed HALO and a brow lift under sedation," he wrote of the Essex woman's visit to him.

"She has also been documenting her journey on her socials.

"Thank you so much for all your trust Beth!"

It sounds like everybody's walked away from this one happy - Beth seems to be dead chuffed with the surgery she wanted and Gregor has a happy customer who's been saying how much she likes his work.

Her hairline is about an inch lower than it used to be and now Beth feels confident about baring her forehead in public.

As for the pain of going under the knife, she said it was 'manageable' and 'just like a bad headache' for a bit, and in exchange she's 'over the moon'.
