Winter is coming, as Game of Thrones was fond of saying, and you might already be getting sick of it being cold and raining all the time.

On top of that, you might be looking at what little annual leave you have left and wondering where on Earth you'd go for a quick trip to use the last of it up that wouldn't be a waste.

You've got to be careful where you pick your holidays, and choosing the right moment can really boost your time away, but if you need to take a trip somewhere before the hectic Christmas period really grabs you then we might have found just the thing.

It's called the 'Garden of Europe' and for those who want to pay less for a trip to the pub the pints are only around £3, which you'd have a tough time finding in the UK.

Something else you'd have trouble finding in the UK this time of year is weather where it's sunny and 23 degrees, which it's what it's going to be next week in this ideal destination.

We're talking about that lovely spot known as Murcia, a city near Spain's east coast, making trips to the Mediterranean a possibility should you choose it for a holiday destination.

Plenty of holidaymakers worry that when they go away in search of some sun, they naturally miss the week of perfect weather which always seems to arrive while they're elsewhere.

However, just check the weather forecast and you'll see we're in for cold temperatures and rain in this corner of the world, and that's how it'll likely continue for a while.

So maybe, just maybe, before 2025 is done and dusted you can squeeze a little more sunlight into your calendar without having to travel to the southern hemisphere.

If you head off to somewhere like Australia where summer is coming then you'll get warm temperatures too, but it's a longer travel time.

The wet and windy weather in the UK is actually forecast to give way to even lower temperatures and the possibility of ice and snow.

The Met Office has issued weather warnings as Arctic air sweeps over Britain and cold health alerts have been issued, so 'tis the season to wrap up jolly warm and be careful what you step on in case your feet slip out from under you.

With all that in mind, one last holiday somewhere decently warm doesn't sound so bad.
