Flight attendant shares why you should never lean your head against plane window

Are you guilty of doing this on a flight?

If you choose to sit in the window seat of a plane, it can be easy to cosy up next to the glass and drift off for a nap.

But one flight attendant has shared why you should never lean on the window of an aircraft to fall asleep.

These days, most of us pre-book our plane seats online and even pay extra to secure the spot we want.

While some of us prefer the aisle (who wants to clamber over sleeping passengers when you need the toilet, right?) others will always opt for the window seat, mainly so they can peer out at the view throughout.

Unsurprisingly, the least popular option is the middle seat, and many people like to book ahead to make sure they're sat with family and friends they may be travelling with.

Now, unless you plan on 'raw-dogging' your flight, most of us will try to pass the time by having at least a short nap during the journey.

But, if you have opted for the window seat, it's best not to go to sleep leaning against the glass pane.

Flight attendant, Tommy - who goes by @tommycimato on TikTok - has revealed the five things you shouldn't do while travelling on an aircraft.

He explained: "Do not sleep/lean on the window. You're not the only one who has done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands - or other things - all over the windows."

We never thought of this before, but Tommy makes a good point.

He also explained some other things you should refrain from doing while travelling on a plane - such as never touching the toilet's flush button with their bare hands.

"It's super unsanitary and pretty gross," he explained.

"Don't forget to drink water. You want to have about 16oz for every flight that you go on.

"[And] don't feel afraid to let a flight attendant know if you're feeling sick. We are there to help, so if you need food, water or an air sickness bag, let us know."

Of course, if you plan on 'raw-dogging' your flight, you won't be needing much at all - not even water.

ICYMI, raw-dogging is a new - and pretty bizarre - travel trend that sees people heading off on long-haul flights armed with absolutely nothing to occupy them.

Most of us like to get stuck into a book, several movies - or at least music - while flying.

But for those who are partial to 'raw-dogging', enjoying a long flight can often mean staring out of the window, fixating on the flight map for the entire duration, or simply twiddling your thumbs.

Even food and water is off limits.
