Woman shares impressive before-and-after of taking new weight loss pill for 30 days
A woman who became one of the first people able to take the Wegovy pill said taking it for 30 days eliminated her hunger and got her to finally hit her target weight.
South Carolina woman Sharon Vickers had been targeting a goal weight of 175lbs and had made a lot of progress towards her goal after gastric sleeve surgery in January 2025.
The surgery had caused her to shed 73lbs, but 46-year-old Sharon 'stalled' at 188lbs and no matter what she tried she couldn't get down to her target, stuck between 188lbs and 192lbs.
Looking into weight loss injections, she found that would have cost her about $500 a month and decided that was too expensive, plus she didn't want to inject herself.

Instead she was able to buy a 30-day supply of the new Wegovy pill for $149, and she found it got her weight loss journey moving again.
"I never wanted this pill to stop me from eating completely"
Starting on 1.5mg, she experienced some early success before results tailed off and she stepped up to the 4mg pill, though Sharon was worried that it might be working a little too well.
She said: "It did suppress my appetite significantly though, and I was losing about 2lbs a week.
"Around day 10, I noticed I wasn’t eating much at all and was getting full way too quickly - and honestly, that wasn’t what I wanted.
"I never wanted this pill to stop me from eating completely. I wanted it to help with food noise and portion control, not eliminate hunger.
"So I started alternating - one day on, one day off - until I hit my goal weight of 175lbs on 17 May. From there I began weaning off, and as of 27 May, I’ve been completely off the pill."
Feeling 'like a completely different woman'
Since hitting her target weight she says she feels 'like a completely different woman', having run two half-marathons and reached a new personal record.
"I can confidently say I am proud of who I am and how far I’ve come. Things I once only dreamed of are now just part of my life," Sharon said of the impact it had on her.
Now her goal is to maintain her weight loss without the Wegovy pill, she's been finding it difficult because the 'cravings and temptations are loud' but she was dedicated to her exercise regime as she works out six days a week and if she needs it she can always go back to the Wegovy pill.
"Only time will tell," she says of her future trying to stay at the same weight.
The Wegovy pill
The pill is a consumable form of the Wegovy weight loss drug that's typically injected by people looking to suppress their appetite and thus reduce their food intake, with the idea being eating much less will help them lose weight.
First launched in the US in January this year, the Wegovy pill has since been rolled out elsewhere in the world including the UK.
While the Wegovy jab is to be injected once a week the pill is something to be taken daily, though Sharon started alternating the days when she thought it was suppressing her appetite too much.
