Ed Sheeran fans were treated to a themed notice board at a London Underground station as they arrived to watch the ginger singer.

Placed at North Greenwich station, the handwritten ode to the star is believed to be written by a Transport for London staff member.

The poem was filled with Sheeran puns and fans heading to his gig at the O2 arena took to social media to share the sign.

The notice read: "Even though I'm a service information board,

"Please excuse me for Thinking Out Loud,

"I really do love, the Shape of You all,

"And you seem such a wonderful crowd.

"We hope your journey was as smooth as can be,

"And you didn't feel a single Small Bump,

"We try our best to impress, and we really must stress,

"Don't let the Underground mice make you jump.

"The O2 Arena is just outside like a canvas Castle on the Hill,

"You have The A Team, to look after your needs,

"If you're lost, drunk, or feeling quite ill.

"Tonight is the night, you hear Ed Sheeran live,

"As you sing with him in the O2,

"Have fun, have a laugh, share a great photograph,

"We shall see you when you come back through."

Instagram user Lara Elliot posted a snap of the board with the caption: "Nice one North Greenwich."

Several Transport for London workers were also spotted wearing Ed Sheeran masks ahead of the concert.

Earlier today, another fan snapped hundreds of Sheeran lovers queuing for the gig.

Taken inside the O2 Arena, the image shows punters lining up in true British fashion.

Andrew Last, who took the picture, told the Evening Standard: "I was at the O2 yesterday seeing Ed Sheeran, and the queue in the picture was for the standing ticket holders.

"People were obeying the invisible lines perfectly for the couple of minutes I was watching before I snapped the picture."

He added: "No one was trying to barge in."
