BGT fans left in tears after witnessing emotional 'Susan Boyle 2.0' audition

BGT fans left in tears after witnessing emotional 'Susan Boyle 2.0' audition

The rising South Wales star blew the Britain's Got Talent judges away with an emotion performance

Britain’s Got Talent viewers believe they’ve discovered ‘Susan Boyle 2.0’ following a singer’s emotional audition which startled the show’s judging panel.

It’s hard to believe that the UK’s premier talent competition, Britain’s Got Talent (BGT), first hit the small screen way back in 2007.

Since then, there’s been 16 series-worth of weird, wonderful and wacky guests - some of whom have gone on to become household names.

Back in 2009, an unlikely star called Susan Boyle walked out onto the BGT stage and produced an unforgettable rendition of Les Miserables ‘I Dreamed a Dream’.

She instantly won the hearts of the nation, and now viewers of the ITV talent show believe they’ve witnessed ‘Susan Boyle 2.0’ in action.

Travis George has been compared to BGT alumni, Susan Boyle.

22-year-old Travis George from South Wales took to the stage last night (May 6) and blew fans away with an emotional performance of ‘Stars’ from the aforementioned musical.

After getting physically emotional, George launched into the song that earned him '4,000 yeses' from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alisha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

Following the emotion-fuelled performance, viewers were quick to applaud George for his stunning ‘Stars’ rendition and liken him to season three runner-up, Boyle.

One wrote: “Oh my goodness!! Travis has given me goosebumps, it’s like witnessing Paul Potts and Susan Boyle all over again: absolutely outstanding and he is a superstar. The best moment is he doesn’t know how great he is. Loved it.”

Viewers were quick to recognise Travis George from his stint on Casualty.

Another said: “I’m very fussy over my Javert in Les Mis but that Travis George was up there and someone I’d happily watch on the West End with no complaint. Just needed a little bit more anger in the voice and it’s spot on.”

A third said: “Another Susan Boyle moment on BGT. This guy has an amazing voice. [A] perfect rendition of a song from Le Mis. This guy will be singing in the West End very, very soon.”

However, some eagle-eyed BGT viewers discovered that George’s recent appearance on the long-running talent show wasn’t his first taste of fame.

It turns out that George is a drama actor who has previously appeared in the British medical series, Casualty.

According to one Casualty fan, George was on the show ‘two weeks ago’.

They wrote: “He was in Casualty two weeks ago playing the boyfriend to the pregnant lady with Down’s syndrome. Is BGT going to admit it’s fixed?”

Another said: “Anyone else notice Travis George was in Casualty Season 37 Episode 8? Played as Louis Marsh. Absolute brilliant voice.”

You can watch Britain’s Got Talent every Saturday night at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
