Ms Hutchins was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital by helicopter but was tragically pronounced dead by medical staff, Sky News has reported.

Mr Souza was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical centre and is currently undergoing treatment for injuries.

A Santa Fe Sheriff's Department official explained there is an investigation open and active, but added: "Mr Baldwin was questioned by investigators and released. No arrests or charges have been filed."

The official statement outlined the incident: "Santa Fe County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Bonanza Creek Ranch movie set of the western "Rust", October 21, 2021, when a 911 caller reported a shooting on the set."
