Couple take DNA test after worrying they might be siblings

Carley and Mercedes, who look remarkably alike, discovered their mums had both slept with the same man

A couple who worried they might be siblings have taken a DNA test to find out if they’re related – and now have their results back.

Watch them discover the results in this video:

Carley and Mercedes from Ontario, Canada, have been together for two years.

But they soon became concerned that they might share the same dad, which would make them half-sisters.

When they spoke to their mums, they both revealed that they’d slept with the same man in the past – sparking horror for the couple, who look remarkably alike.

Sharing their story on TikTok the pair uploaded a video with the text saying: “When you find out two years into dating that your moms both slept with the same guy.”

Uploading the clip they asked in the caption: “Should we take a DNA test?”

Many of their followers on social media also noted the uncanny resemblance between them.

“I have no idea who you guys are and I immediately thought you were sisters before reading the text,” one user wrote.

“That could explain why you two look like sisters,” another TikTok user added.

Wanting to know if their connection was through love rather than from their family tree, the OnlyFans models decided to bite the bullet and take a DNA test.

But despite their concerns, the couple didn’t press pause on their relationship while they waited for their test results to come back.

Five weeks later, they finally had their answer.

In an emotional clip posted on TikTok, the couple could be seen opening their results on camera.

Holding their breath, they discovered they had zero relatives in common, before breaking out into huge smiles and an emotional embrace.

Fans commenting on the clip were thrilled for the pair.

One said: “YAYYYYY IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!! I bet that this is just a massive weight off your shoulders.”

Another wrote: “I’ve never been so invested in someone’s DNA results. Congrats!!”

Another wrote that it’s actually pretty common for soul mates to look similar, saying: “You know soulmates look a lot alike. It's common to look like your soulmate. Congratulations. You’re meant to be together. Stay happy and blessed.”

Speaking to the Daily Star, the couple said: “We were very anxious and the thought of potentially being related was horrifying but we just tried to keep ourselves busy.”

However, while they tried to continue as normal, they did say the possibility of sharing the same blood was always at the back of their minds.

Thankfully, the loved-up couple could breathe a sigh of relief when the DNA test which revealed that they weren’t related.

“It’s definitely taken away a lot of stress and anxiety,” they said.

“We’ve finally been able to breathe for the first time in what feels like forever. We couldn’t imagine going the rest of our lives without knowing.”
