Criminal psychologist made discovery about OJ Simpson after having just one look inside his house

Criminal psychologist made discovery about OJ Simpson after having just one look inside his house

He says it took one look and he knew

A criminal psychologist made key discovery about OJ Simpson with one look inside his house.

In 1994, having been accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman that year, the former NFL star went on a bizarre car chase through the streets Los Angeles, followed closely by the police.

Eventually, with the whole world watching as the pursuit was broadcast live on TV, Simpson arrived back at his home in Brentwood, with a tense stand-off with cops.

In a desperate attempt to stop Simpson, who was armed with a gun at the time, from doing himself or anyone else harm, Dr Kris Mohandie was called to the scene to try and talk him down.

Speaking to LADbible about the tense ordeal, the criminal psychologist said he had to make a quick assessment of Simpson before engaging with him... and it didn't take long.

He told us: "There were 500 people standing at the end of his street and SWAT had a guy dressed as a tree with a gun pointing at his car.

"I put a bulletproof vest on and the SWAT team got me into his back garden.

"He had full size statues of himself and inside his house all of his walls were adorned with pictures of himself from his football days - there were no pictures of his family.

"So it wasn't the most difficult assessment to make about his personality type - he's clearly a narcissist.

"I just reinforced that they had to re-inflate him - they love you, Mr. Simpson, look at all these people, etc. - to stop him from killing himself."

Luckily, Dr Mohandie was able to talk Simpson round and resolve the situation peacefully, with Simpson 'collapsing safely into an officer’s arms, deflated'.

Writing in his book, Dr Mohandie recalled: "He wanted to use the restroom, call his mom, and get something to drink. All of which happened. But it took some time to get him the drink.

"I learned a short time later that was because one of the cops was looking through the fridge for orange juice.

"'OJ, have some orange juice.' Juice for 'The Juice.' Cop humor. Gotta love it."

This comes as news broke that Simpson had died at the age of 76.

A statement shared on X, attributed to his family, read: "On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.

"He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

"During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace."
