The thing about films, as anyone who's tried picking something to watch on Netflix will know, is that there's bloody loads of them. Who's got the time to watch them all? Luckily, there's a select few that stand head and shoulders above the rest, and among them is surely the Terminator series.

They have everything; a former Mr Universe, car chases, robots, and quite frankly a worrying amount of guns.

It is also responsible for some of the most recognisable quotes in film history, such as 'I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle' and 'come with me if you want to live'.

But the most famous of them all perhaps needs no introduction; 'I'll be back'.

And after 27 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger is donning the leather chaps again alongside Sarah Connor herself - yes, Linda Hamilton is returning to the Terminator movies at the age of 62. (And if that's blown your mind, bear in mind that Arnie himself is now 71.)

They're finally back. It's happening.

And having sat through hours of less than perfect sequels - the less said about Terminator Salvation and Genisys the better - fans have earned this moment.

To mark the occasion, and Linda's birthday, Arnie took to social media to share a throwback image of the pair.

The Herculean actor - seriously, Hercules in New York is one of his best films, don't @ me - shared two photos of the pair on his Twitter page; one dating back to 1991 from the set of Terminator 2 and the second from the set of the new film, which is due to be released next year.

The iconic pair originally starred opposite each other in the 1984 original where Arnie played the relentless cyborg, hell bent on killing off Sarah Connor.

They then went on to reprise their roles in the sequel, which saw the former bodybuilder move over to the good side, trying his best to protect Sarah from the notorious T1000, played by Robert Patrick.

The next installment sees Hamilton return to the blockbuster franchise after having been killed off in the fourth movie, 2009's Salvation.

It will be the fifth film in the series to star Arnie, and with Deadpool's Tim Miller at the helm, the early signs are positive.

But along with the household names signed up, the film will also see a number of newcomers make their bow, including Mackenzie Davis, Diego Boneta, Gabriel Luna and Natalia Reyes.
