Salt Bae is due to open his first restaurant in the UK, with a new site for his Nusr-Et Steakouse chain coming to London 'soon'.

The viral chef, whose real name is Nusret Gökçe, rose to fame with his trademark flair, having been videoed seasoning a gigantic 'Ottoman Steak' by sprinkling salt down his forearm.

According to The i newspaper, the new restaurant will launch at the Park Tower in Knightsbridge on 17 May, and will become Gökçe's 13th - joining others in Turkey, Dubai and the United States.

It doesn't look like you can book just yet - as reservations via SevenRooms.com don't appear to show any availability in the system - but the chain's website confirms that the London site is 'opening soon'.

If you call the number listed on Google, a recorded message says staff are sorry to be unable to host customers just yet, saying: "Our final preparations are on their way."

The message adds: "We are looking forward to welcoming you for a memorable experience."

The restaurant is currently recruiting for staff, with a job ads online for roles including a restaurant general manager, a sommelier, hosts and waiters.

In a listing on Caterer.com, the company says it offers a 'competitive salary' and 'growth opportunities', along with perks including 'international travel'.

Recently, people were shocked to discover the price of the food at Salt Bae's restaurants, with a viral photo of a receipt from the site in Miami, Florida, showing a bill of $6,228.05 (£4,485.72).

Looking at the receipt, we can see there's a fair amount of food and drink on there, but breaking it down, there are a few eye-watering costs that stand out.

Along with a number of fish starters, a $10 Sprite and vegetable sides costing in excess of $15 (see '2 French Fries 30.00' and '2 Spinach 36.00'), there's also a Tomahawk steak for $275 (£198) as well as a 'Golden Tomahawk' for $1,000 (£720).

One person shared a picture of the menu and the $1,000 'Golden Tomahawk' is described as a '24 karat gold coated highly marbled wagyu tomahawk'.

Stating the obvious, someone else wrote: "This dinner party has money. People who complain or post receipts don't order $1,500 Le Brut or $1k tomahawk steak."

Another replied: "Nobody said they couldn't afford it. Doesn't make it any less ridiculous."

One person also noticed the $80 'spaghetti' (which is actually 'thinly sliced striploin') saying: "I better be able to speak Italian afterwards."
