Nope, this one’s not an April Fool’s joke apparently...

I'm sure today you've all been enjoying the non-stop japes that have come from April Fool's Day, from Tinder's new 'height confirming technology' (lolz) through to WebJet's £1 flights from the UK to Australia (if only).

Even poor Holly Willoughby got stitched up live on TV this morning, having been tricked into thinking a woman was seriously upset with her makeover.

But there's one news story that sounds like a wind-up, even though it's apparently 100 percent legit... Introducing the new lovechild of Heinz and Cadbury, who have joined forces to create Heinz [Seriously] Good Cadbury Creme Egg Mayo.

Creme-egg flavoured mayonnaise. Just let that sink in for a moment.

The unusual concoction sees rich and creamy Heinz mayonnaise blended with Cadbury Creme Egg goo and chunky milk chocolate pieces - a combination that Heinz and Cadbury purport to work 'beautifully' when 'dolloped onto waffles or crumpets'.

The product was announced last year as part of an April Fool's Day prank, but this time it's no joke.

Martina Davis, Brand Manager of Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise, said: "In Heinz's 150th anniversary year, we want to take every opportunity to celebrate and Easter has always been one of our favourite times of the year.

"So we set out to create the most Easter-y mayo we could. And who better to partner with than Cadbury Creme Egg - the kings and queens of Easter and another of the nation's most loved brands!

"We're delighted to launch the world's first-ever Creme Egg Mayo, just in time for Easter. And very happy to report that it's absolutely DELICIOUS. A real taste adventure. The only question we're asking ourselves is why we haven't done it sooner?!"

The concoction tastes great on waffles or crumpets, apparently.

Raphael Capitani, Brand Manager of Cadbury Creme Egg, said: "We're excited to finally announce our partnership with Heinz to create this gloriously gooey, crazy combination and dream collaboration for so many Cadbury Creme Egg lovers. We couldn't think of a better partner to make this spread. The surprising taste is so, so delicious!"

If you want to have a taste of the new product, the curious new condiment will be available to try for a limited period at a free Heinz X Cadbury Creme Egg pop-up installation, which will be at London's Truman Brewery from 11-13 April.

The timings for the event at Ely's Yard, Truman Brewery in London are 11am-8pm on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 April, and 11am-4pm on Saturday 13 April.
