A waterpark has released a statement after a man went viral for his incredible leap from one of its waterslides. Have a look at his attempt:

The man in question goes by the name 'La Mascotte', and is known for having a penchant for the spectacular.

In the video, he is seen standing on a small roof above a huge slide, surrounded by expectant onlookers, at Frenzy Palace waterpark in France.

Wasting no time, he then jumps, launching himself down the slide before being flung back into the air and crashing into the water below.

The video went everywhere, with thousands commenting on the post to share their utter amazement.

Sharing the clip to its page, Frenzy Palace wrote: "One of the most extreme jumps in our Best Tricks 2022.

"The flight of @la_mascotte94 from the roof of our highest ramps."

However, La Mascotte later posted an update, in which he showed the impact the stunt had had on his body. And it wasn't pretty.

In the short clip, you can see that he suffered huge grazes all over his body, with his upper thigh, stomach and back in bits.

While it left many people concerned for his safety, La Mascotte told LADbible that it was just a few bruises and nothing serious.

The waterpark has also come out and assured people that only competitors who had signed an agreement were allowed to take part in the annual competition.

Speaking to LADbible, a spokesperson for Frenzy Palace said: "All participants signed a document/declaration in order to be able to make these jumps without our liability being incurred in case of serious injuries.

"Of course this was reserved for athletes/competitors and stuntmen and not for the general public.

"This competition takes place every year at the beginning of August in partnership with Riding Zone!"

The daredevil's attempt went viral.

Adding: "This [jumping from the roof] is of course only possible for professionals/stuntmen.

"The public can't use the roof, it was just for the competition."

And despite the damage caused to La Mascotte's body, viewers were largely positive about the incredible dive.

One commented: "It honestly looks like he hit a speed boost midway through the slide."

Another impressed onlooker said: "That looked like so much fun!"

"He must have felt so free and light as a butterfly whilst up the air for those few seconds," put a third.

While another added: "41 loops and counting, that was AWESOME!"
