Man left surprised after doing 500 push-ups in one hour and showing impressive result

The extreme amount of push-ups had a noticeable impact on the body

No that isn't a typo, a man actually shared the results of doing 500 pushups on YouTube — and there was actually a noticeable difference between the before and after photos.

I think it's fair to say that most of us aren't doing 500 in single day, let alone that many in a single hour. However the beauty of the internet is that you're never more than a few clicks away from someone who is claiming to be able to do just that.

The man behind this pretty impressive feat isn't your fitness fanatic or gym bro either, but musician and YouTuber Jackson Hunter.

In a short clip uploaded to the video sharing platform, Hunter shared a sped-up montage of himself doing numerous push-ups in his house as well as the before and after transformation.

And to be fair, Hunter looked noticeably larger in his upper chest, shoulders and arms.

Now the cynics among us would declare that such a sudden transformation is impossible and cry photoshop. However such a difference after a vigorous workout isn't completely unheard of and is something the gym bros out there refer to as being 'swole'.

Also known as the 'muscle pump', the change occurs due to increased blood-flow to the area after a workout, which temporarily increases muscle size.

You might even know some blokes who use this logic and add it into their pre-going out routine. Because apparently looking buff is just as important as taking a shower and putting on your best clothes.

As it's the internet, not everybody was convinced by Hunter's rapid transformation.

One viewer claiming that his beard appeared longer in the before and after pics while another criticised his form in the video, claiming that he hadn't actually done a push-up as his chest didn't touch the floor.

However others were certainly impressed and thanked Hunter for motivating them to work on their fitness. "Thanks bro Appreciate the Motivation," one user wrote, while a second added: "Dayum! Wish I could do that! You gonna be one of the greats."

Fortunately you don't need to be smashing 500 push-ups in an hour in order to look after your body and remain healthy, with Mayo Clinic (via The Standard) advising that a 25-year-old man with a 'good fitness level' should be able to do about 28 push-ups in one go while a woman the same age should be able do 20.

This declines as we age, as a 45-year-old man should be aiming for 16 push-ups. For a woman the same age, this drops to 14 push-ups.

Which means most of us have a lot of ground to make up.
