More men are turning to simple treatment to make them last longer in bed

A lot of men are turning to a specific treatment to remedy a common problem in the bedroom and it's becoming increasingly more popular.

Issues between the sheets are far more common than most believe, with around 30 to 40 percent of men being affected by the health condition.

Premature ejaculation (PE) happens when a man ejaculates earlier than they anticipate or earlier than their partners, which could be due to a number of physical, emotional, or psychological factors.

It was a problem that was once highly stigmatised but more people are speaking about it now more than ever before, as it isn't only common among those in later years.

The issue can be frustrating for you and your partner, with some even experiencing lifelong problems, but it seems like there is now a medical solution which is becoming more popular.

How is premature ejaculation caused?

The average time men last in bed has been revealed in a recent study, claiming that around 16 minutes in bed is the benchmark - several healthcare providers have pointed out that ejaculating within one minute of beginnning intercourse can be classified as PE, though the exact timing for it can vary, with it being advised that you see your GP for a diagnosis.

It's said that one in five people between the ages of 18 and 59 report premature ejaculation, according to Cleveland Clinic.

PE can be brought on by any one of these physical causes:

  • Prostate problems
  • Thyroid problems
  • The use of recreational drugs

When it comes to mental or psychological issues, it could be any one of:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety about sexual performance
  • Relationship problems

Popular premature ejaculation medication

More men are heading to Boots Online Doctor to get their fix of 'Premature Ejaculation Treatment', as they state on their website that it can 'help control ejaculation so you can enjoy sex for longer'.

It can be delivered to your door or made available for pick-up, and it is predcribed in pill form after a consultation and clinical assessment.

According to stats from the official Premature Ejaculation Service, orders jumped 16 percent in July 2025 from the month before, though they noted that there has been a slowdown in November over the past couple of years.

They claim that they're reaching all-time highs in terms of growth.

Which age groups buy the medication?

They state that it is most commonly used by men aged 25 to 44, though the largest groups are:

  • 25–29: 17%
  • 30–34: 18%
  • 35–39: 18%

In younger adults, it's revealed that 18 to 19-year-olds are less than one percent of sales, while nine percent of sales go to men between the ages of 20 and 24, while men over 55 also aren't the most common users.
