A woman has taken to the internet to share the biggest difference she experienced when switching between GLP-1 drugs Wegovy and Mounjaro.
The rise in popularity of drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro can't be understated, with users of the substances increasing exponentially in the past few years.
Originally made as a treatment for those with diabetes, celebrities have contributed to the normalisation of using them for weight loss purposes, despite companies behind the production of Ozempic advising against using it for that.
Since names like Jeremy Clarkson and Amy Schumer have admitted they have used the drugs, regular people have started to sort out their own dosages.

People have had varying experiences as Mounjaro (using active ingredient tirzepatide) and Wegovy (using active ingredient semaglutide) are among the most popular choices, while being licensed for weight management on the NHS.

Differences between both drugs and Ozempic have been highlighted in a scientific study that was published today (30 October), but there is one main difference, according to a woman who has been using variations of GLP-1 drugs for nearly three years.
Known as 'Brittany Rose GLP1' on YouTube, she says in her channel description that use of medication such as semaglutide and tirzepatide has helped her lose 100 pounds since November 2022.
She claimed that semaglutide (Wegovy) wasn't as effective at 'minimising food noise', which is the 'mental chatter' of food and eating, which can go on even if you aren't particularly hungry.
Brittany explained that this may be due to it not having the GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) element, which helps the secretion of insulin from the pancreas in response to food.

The content creator said that some people experienced decreases in food noise while on semaglutide, referencing Oprah Winfrey's experience, though Brittany only experienced this once she switched over to Mounjaro, which uses tirzepatide, as she said the change was 'pretty instant'.
After starting Wegovy, she recalled: "I would say the first week I was okay with it (but) that second week, food noise cravings, high sugar cravings, which is actually something that I had never experienced before.
"I was not a sugar eater ever in my life I've always been a salty um or savoury eater."

Brittany said it was hard to say no to things, and that she found herself snacking a fair amount, claiming it was the Wegovy and not her cycle or any other factor.

"I took a shot I went back on tirzepatide yesterday so it's just been 12 hours since I took that first like first shot and I already have no food noise, it literally instantly turned it back off," she pointed out.
The YouTuber said the food noise on Wegovy was 'crazy' and ultimately proved ineffective for her, preferring the results she's experiencing with Mounjaro.
