Jeremy Clarkson and Amy Schumer have been very open about their experiences with Ozempic in the past, and both have experienced the same brutal side effect.

The drug has been in headlines recently as celebrities around the world have tried taking it in efforts to shave off a few pounds, albeit to varying effects.

While Clarkson and Schumer have shared the negative effects that Ozempic - which is made to treat those with Type-2 diabetes and is not licenced for weight loss in the UK - had on them before they stopped using the medication.

Both stars would eventually turn to an approved weight-loss drug called Mounjaro, and were perfectly candid with what they went through on the medications.

The former Top Gear presenter admitted that he made the decision to switch up his lifestyle in recent years, which involved losing weight and avoiding junk food as the presenter underwent emergency heart surgery in 2024.

Speaking about how the medication affected him, he revealed in a column with The Times: "My body lost the ability to deal with gluttony but once the initial enthusiasm had worn off, my mind still wanted to breakfast on Cadbury Fruit & Nut."

"This meant I was sick a lot," he admitted.

Clarkson's nausea wasn't all that steered him away, as he added: "After six months, having put on half a stone, I gave up."

Schumer faced the same issues, revealing that she too suffered from nausea, though she did manage to lose 30 pounds.

During a guest appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the Trainwreck star revealed that she was 'bedridden' while on Ozempic.

"I have this gene, GDF15, which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy," she said, after host Stern brought the topic up.

"I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like, bedridden."

Schumer went on: "I was like, vomiting — and then you have no energy. But other people take it and they’re all good."

She then joked about the red flags she found with the weight-loss drug, saying: "You’re like, ‘Wait a minute. Can we slow down?’ The side effects are you have a better personality,

"I tried it and I was vomiting and I’m in bed and my son’s like, ‘Can you play tag?’ I’m like, 'I can’t.' I was shrivelling," she revealed.

Despite the big amount of weight lost, the actress didn't think it was worth it after all.

"I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, so what’s the point?” she said.

Both stars have revealed that they're using Mounjaro now, with Schumer saying in an Instagram post: "Mounjaro’s been great. It’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have, but I’m having a really good experience with it.

"I wanted to keep it real with you about that."

Clarkson also spoke better of Mounjaro: "I can open the fridge, look at all the goodies in there and then close it. I haven’t lost any weight but it seems inevitable that, as I no longer want to eat my own body weight in chocolate and beef, I will."

The 65-year-old also added that you can enjoy a 'small handful of sunflower seeds' in the morning, which makes you feel full.

However, he said he is now 'living a minibar existence' with small packets of food, stating: "That’s not living. That’s existing."
