As the world reels from the Supreme Court's abortion ruling to repeal Roe v Wade, some furious women have planned the ultimate payback for men - no sex at all.

At a New York protest, paramedic Brianna Campbell revealed she would not be having sex with any men who had not had a vasectomy.

"If you’re a man who won’t get a vasectomy, even though it’s reversible, and you’re not out in the streets fighting for my rights, you do not deserve to have sex with me," she told the New York Post.

Caroline Healey also told the Post that the ruling indicates that a man’s sex life is more important than women’s rights.

"I think it’s absolutely valid for us to be withholding the Holy Grail that men seem to think is important," she said.

"Why shouldn’t we withhold it if we’re always worried that they’re not going to put a condom on [or] that they’re going to take [it off midway through without consent]."

The 22-year-old added: “If we can’t safely go out and have sex and know that we will have a choice after that, then why should we be expected to?”

Rape survivor Maya Demri lashed out at the US Supreme Court ruling.

"If this world thinks that they can oppress women forever, then we close our legs," she said to the Post.

But they aren’t the only women swearing off sex to prevent the Supreme Court from policing their wombs and bodies.

The hashtag #SexStrike took off over the weekend following Friday's ruling to strike down Roe v Wade. News.com.au reported that #abstinence was trending on Twitter with more than 26,900 tweets on Saturday (June 25) alone.

One Twitter user said: "If I have no right to my body, men have no right to it either."

Another commented: "My legs are CLOSED," alongside a call out circulating online urging women to join the sex strike.

A third added: "I think it’s high time women all over the world go on a sex strike. Enough is enough. And why haven’t we discovered a way/technology to fully prevent a male from raping a female?"

Repealing Roe v Wade means the US Supreme Court has taken away national access to abortions for women; handing legislative power back to the states.

Some US states have already wholly banned abortions regardless of circumstance, even if they are at risk of death or are the victim of a sexual crime.

Basically, this means rape victims will be forced to bear their abuser's baby and women now may face death with some miscarriages requiring an abortion to stop the patient from going sceptic.

Women who have an abortion in Texas now face a life sentence in jail, longer than their rapist who would only serve 20 years at maximum, as per CNET with a state-by-state breakdown on the impact of the abortion ruling.
