Disneyland Paris Apologises After Employee Swoops In To Ruin Proposal

It turns out Disneyland isn’t always the happiest place on Earth as Disneyland Paris has issued an apology after an employee recently 'ruined' a marriage proposal at the theme park. Take a look below:

In the short video that has now gone viral, a man is seen kneeling on one knee about to pop the question to his significant other in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle.

But before he can finish the proposal, a Disneyland staff member runs over and abruptly snatches the ring box from his hand.

The employee then redirects the couple to capture the romantic moment on a different platform, saying: "Yes that’s great, but it’ll be even better over here", resulting in boos from onlookers.

Whether this area of the amusement park was strictly off limits or the employee was simply trying to find a better location for the grant gesture, this man’s timing is horrendous.

Newsweek reports that shortly after the awkward moment, a Disney spokesperson decided to address the situation and apologise.

They said: "We regret how this was handled. We have apologised to the couple involved and offered to make it right."

Regardless of the apology, many have slammed the Disney staff member anyway for intervening, with one person writing: "Disney must pay him a good amount of money to taint peoples ‘magical moments’".

Another person said: “If this were me, I wouldn't have even known they were an employee. I would have thought they were [a thief] because they just ripped a diamond ring out [of] my hands.”

A third person wrote: “Unbelievable. Bad manners and awful representation of the company he works for.”

Another commented: “​​Why didn’t the cast member stop them before he got down on one knee, and the cast member should have said ‘sorry guys you can’t propose here’ instead of taking the man’s ring!!! That’s insane to me.”

While another person blamed the cringe interaction by the man staging the proposal in public, commenting: “That’s why you propose in private.

"You won’t look like a simp in public, and you don’t have to worry about others ruining your unnecessary spectacle.”

Maybe Disneyland can host the couple’s wedding at the princess castle as generous compensation?

Just so long as they restrain staff members as the rings are presented during the exchange of vows...
