Dozens Were Trapped Inside A Pub For Three Nights With An Oasis Cover Band

Thankfully the pub stocks up every winter and everyone was fed and passed the time with games and karaoke.

A massive snow storm has seen around 50 people spend a little more time than they had planned at Britain's highest pub.

The Tan Hill Inn, located in Richmond among the Yorkshire Dales, was hit hard by Storm Arwen over the weekend and the immense amount of snow meant that everyone who came for a beer had to stay.

Thankfully for everyone, there was a bit of entertainment during their unexpected three-night stint at the pub.

An Oasis cover band performed there before the storm hit and they too were forced to remain indoors during the weekend.

Snow had not only blanketed the roads but also shrouded The Tan Hill Inn in the white stuff, meaning it would have been way too dangerous for anyone to leave.

By Saturday (November 27), nearly the building had been covered in snow and everyone inside realised their fun expedition to Britain's highest pub might go on a little longer than expected.

Staff found as many blankets, mattresses and pillows as they had in stock and let everyone who hadn't booked overnight rooms sleep in the pub.

They also whipped up some hearty looking meals to make sure everyone was fed and warm during the storm. Thankfully, the pub always stocks up for the winter so there was no stress about running out of food.

According to Rolling Stone, everyone kept busy by playing pub trivia, watching movies and even some karaoke.

After three long nights inside, the pub was told the main road out of the area had been cleared up and everyone was allowed to leave.

The Facebook page thanked everyone who spent the weekend with them and for being so relaxed about the situation.

They wrote: "We will ALWAYS remember this group of amazing people who came together, and hopefully, in challenging circumstances, enjoyed what we all think was a life - changing experience."

The pub's manager, Nicola Townsend, explained to the New York Times that everyone has now left, except for two people who were waiting until the roads got a little better.

The Oasis cover band, who are called Noasis, said it was one hell of an experience.

"Thanks to everyone for your messages of support, thanks to everyone for the camaraderie within the venue," they wrote.

"Thanks to Mike, Nicola the venue manager and her wonderful staff for looking after us all and thanks to Kendal mountain rescue for all of their assistance."
