Heartbroken McDonald’s fans are saying their lives have been ‘ruined’ after the fast-food chain removed five items from its menu to make way for some new ones.

As Maccies fans will know, the fast-food giant regularly swaps around its menu items - getting rid of old ones to make way for some new ones - but the latest round of items to get the chop has left some folks pretty upset.

From today (Wednesday 4 January) customers will no longer be able to get their hands on the seasonal Festive Pie and Celebrations McFlurry, we’re also saying goodbye to the Big Tasty, Cheese Melt Dippers and the Mini Potato Waffles that were added to the breakfast menu.

And some customers are not best pleased with the changes, with some demanding the return of the much-loved items.

One person tweeted: "McDonald’s taking the potato waffles off the breakfast menu has ruined my life."

Another said: “As if Maccies have stopped doing the breakfast waffles!! McDonald's give your head a wobble and bring them back!!"

The Big Tasty has gone.

Lamenting the loss of the Big Tasty, someone else commented: "I don't know why they don't just put the Big Tasty on the regular menu, it's on the seasonal menus often enough."

Another upset fan said: “Big Macs should be replaced by Big Tastys and let them stay on @McDonalds menu 24/7 instead.”

However, what McDonald’s takes with one hand, it gives back with the other and you might be pleased to know that there are some new items joining the menu including a Double McPlant burger for those partaking in Veganuary.

There’s also a Spicy Sriracha Chicken Wrap and Mint Aero McFlurries to try and replace the hole in your life left by the Celebrations McFlurry.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: “We’re so pleased to be launching a new Big Flavour Wrap in the UK and Ireland. The Spicy Sriracha Chicken One brings something different to the wrap family and we hope customers are as excited by it as we are.

“As with every McDonald’s offering, we take our time to ensure it meets the highest standards and is something that all our customers will enjoy. We are always looking for different ways to innovate and meet consumers needs and knowing how well-loved the Big Flavour Wraps – it made sense to add to this family, with a spicy chicken edition.”

If you fancy getting your hands on one of the new spicy wraps, they're available from now until 14 February.
