People are desperate for McDonald's to bring back Chicken Legend after trying McCrispy

The new menu item has blown up on Twitter

Last month, McDonald's UK made history by introducing the first permanent burger addition to its menu in 15 years.

We are, of course, talking about the McCrispy.

But while some fans are very much into the burger, which consists of a crispy chicken breast fillet, black pepper mayo, lettuce and a sourdough-style bun, others aren't convinced.

So much so, that some are now calling on the fast food giant to bring back the Chicken Legend, which was removed from the menu on 19 October - the day the McCrispy became a permanent fixture.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote, "Petition for McDonald’s to get rid of McCrispy and bring back chicken legend," alongside a crying emoji.

In response to one customer saying the newbie 'slaps but you have to add cheese and dip it in sauce', another said, "Nahhh cause the Chicken Legend slaps and the McChicken is even nicer than that McCrispy.

Some McDonald's fans are calling for the return of the Chicken Legend.
Twitter

"They're selling dreams."

"Sorry but the McCrispy is just okay. The Chicken Legend was wayyyy better," added a third, while a fourth said, "@McDonaldsUK you need to bring back the Chicken Legend!"

A fifth chimed in: "The McCrispy is just a cheaper, poorer quality chicken legend which is exactly why they discontinued the chicken legend.

"No fancy marketing is going to brush that up."

As said, not everyone agrees with this sentiment, with many jumping in to defend the new menu item.

But of course, many are huge fans of the new McCrispy burger.
Twitter

"So I just tried the McCrispy, firstly please manage your expectations it's McDonalds, not a central London burger bar," wrote one.

"Considering it's only £5 and it's from McDonalds it absolutely SLAPS! It really is crispy and a little spicy. I added extra cheese and Omg!"

Another said: "Bro the McCrispy burger is the ONE, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise."

A third added: "I’m not tolerating any McCrispy slander. That burger slaps. You lot just want to be different."

Well, one thing's for certain - the McCrispy has people talking.

The McCrispy burger is the talk of the town right now.
McDonald's

As for the burger itself, it's described as having a 'crunchy 100 percent chicken breast fillet, marinated in black pepper and cayenne’ as well as lashings of 'classic mayonnaise with cracked black pepper and a savoury roasted chicken flavour'.

It's then finished off with a 'four-inch artisan glazed bun with a sweet nutty toasted flavour', which honestly you can't really argue with.

Whether or not it's better than the Chicken Legend is clearly still up for debate - guess all that's left to do is give it a try. For research purposes, obviously.
