McDonald's worker quits mid-shift after being asked to clean

One Maccies worker refused to clean the dirty dishes before promptly quitting mid-shift

A Maccies worker has gone viral after he promptly quitted mid-shift due to not wanting to clean the dirty dishes.

Look, no one likes washing up, but shouting 'hell nah' and literally running away might be a step too far.

Check out the shocking moment here:

Of course, we've all had jobs we didn't want to do, maybe you worked as a bartender during uni and got stuck with a bunch of freshers screaming 'Jägerbomb' at you all night. Maybe you worked in the frozen section of a supermarket and spent your shifts colder than John Snow's dogs.

Either way, sometimes you've just got to roll your sleeves up and do the work; or have a massive freak out, quit mid-shift, and post it on TikTok — you know, whatever works.

Fionn McCallum posted a video of the incident at a New Zealand branch of the fast food chain on TikTok, which sees him zoom in on a bunch of dirty dishes before shouting: "Hell nah, I'm not cleaning that. I ain't cleaning that." You know, a normal response.

McCallum took one look at the dishes and said 'hell nah'.

He then walks over and speaks to his manager, off camera, shouting: "Ashley, I quit. I quit. I quit."

To which someone, presumably Ashley, can be heard shouting "get back here!" in response.

Understandably, people on TikTok were pretty divided about McCallum's clear disdain for the dishes.

One user wrote: "How can anyone be surprised? It's what we expect from kids today."

Another went with the typical snowflake cop-out because apparently, people have run out of creative insults: "Well I can easily tell this kid is not going to be a hard worker in his lifetime.

"Snowflakes will cry over someone looking at them these days."

The young lad's actions have certainly divided opinion online.

A third said that the task really wouldn't have taken McCallum long and they didn't understand why exactly he quit: "quit over cleaning something that would have taken you 20-30 min to do. Be fr."

Others seemed to side with McCallum, however, with one pointing out: "Na no way the manager was being serious."

While another seemed to cheer the lad on for reposting the viral video after 'TikTok took it down for harassment and bullying', they said: "you got this get it famous again."

What do you think of the video? Would you quit overdoing the dishes?
