MrBeast has hit out at people who edit his tweets to use them in thumbnails after hoax death announcement surfaces online.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is the most subscribed individual YouTuber in the world - but his mega fame means that he often becomes the focus of vile death hoaxes and has previously had to shut down rumours that he had passed away.

Earlier this year, a viral tweet showed a black and white photo of Donaldson alongside the caption: “I can’t believe MrBeast died... gone too soon man.. you'll never be forgotten you legend.”

After the post received more than 14 millions views and 170,000 ‘likes’, the YouTuber stepped into confirm that he was alive and well, by replying: “Why does this have 100,000 likes? Lol.”

Now, he’s hit back at a more recent fake announcement, which appears to show MrBeast claiming he will die within the next three years.

Sharing a screenshot of a thumbnail of a YouTube video, which includes a fake tweet from Donaldson that reads: “I will be dead in 3 years” alongside a photo of the 25-year-old.

MrBeast shared a YouTube thumbnail with a fake tweet of his in it.

The title of the video is: "MrBeast's Disease Is Worse Than You Think," an apparent reference to his recent Crohn's disease diagnosis.

Sharing the screenshot on Twitter, Donaldson wrote: "Thank god for this YouTube video or I wouldn’t have known I’m dying in three years."

And in a follow-up tweet, he wrote: "Can we end the trend of photoshopping fake tweets of mine as thumbnails? Thx”.

Back in March, Donaldson revealed that he had some videos recorded that would only be shared after he died.

Appearing on the Lex Fridman podcast, he explained: "When I had 8,000 subscribers and I was a teenager, I filmed a bunch of videos, and scheduled them years in the future, and I said... I filmed one where I was like, 'Hi, me in a year', and the video went up a year later, and it was just like, 'Hey, I think you'll have 100,000 subscribers'.

He's implored people to stop mocking up tweets for views.

"And then, I did one where I was like, 'Hi me in five years'. And I was like, 'Hey, in five years I think you'll have a million'.

"And then, one that hasn't come out yet."

On the possibility of releasing videos after his death, he said: "There are some that are scheduled like 20 years in the future, and so, if I don't die, I'll just move 'em up.

"And I remember... 'Cause I filmed these though like seven years ago, but it was... I remember saying a line like, 'If I'm dead, then I'm currently just in a coffin', and like whatever, blah, blah.

"Because the only way the video would go up is if I'm not alive.

"And if I'm not alive, then I won't be able to push back the scheduled upload dates so it'll go public automatically.

"And so, yeah, I have a couple of those."
