Eurostar Trains Now Run Direct From Amsterdam To London

Eurostar train tickets from London to Amsterdam are now on sale through to 2021, with the fastest journey taking approximately 3 hours and 41 minutes... but it's taken a long time to get to this point.
Back in 2018, Eurostar hit the headlines after it announced it was going to expand its routes and open up a new rail link to the Netherlands, allowing punters to hop on the train at St. Pancras and depart just a few hours later in the centre of Amsterdam.
There was a catch, however.
Though the trains ran directly from London to Amsterdam, with travel times tallying up at a little more than four hours (roughly the same as flying), the return leg of the journey required passengers to change trains at Brussels and submit to a passport check along the way.
The plans were (understandably) postponed in early 2020 due to the outbreak of Covid-19, but with Eurostar recently announcing that they were ramping up services to cope with the growing demand for continental travel in the post-pandemic world, it looks like the return leg has been given the green light to bypass Brussels and head straight from Amsterdam to London.
The cross-Channel rail operator has announced it will run eight daily return services from September 6 until November 1, with tickets clocking in at around the £40 ($55) mark.
Eurostar has also introduced new measures to keep passengers safe, with trains being deep cleaned before every journey and cleaning teams on board to regularly disinfect high contact areas.
All travellers must also wear a face mask at all times whilst onboard and in stations; a mandate which continues to apply immediately after check-in at London St Pancras until departure.
The news comes as a number of foreign countries are being added to the Government's Green list and Amber list, which fully-vaccinated Brits can travel to and from without having to quarantine.
The Netherlands is currently on the Amber list, which means that travellers will need to take two Covid tests before heading back to the UK- one upon arrival and another three days before departure.
