Two People Accused Of Shoplifting While Wearing Watermelons On Their Heads

Just act natural.

Police have been on the hunt for two people accused of shoplifting in Virginia while wearing watermelons on their heads.

It's not your traditional style of a face covering, but you have to respect the thought, planning and execution the pair went into while creating their disguise.

You'd think you would want to be as inconspicuous as possible if you were going to commit a crime, not stick out like a sore thumb and be the water cooler story for the rest of the week.

Louisa Police Department

The Louisa Police Department uploaded pictures of the incident to Facebook, where it's been liked, shared and commented on by thousands of people.

In a statement, the police force said: "The Town of Louisa Police Department is conducting a larceny investigation and is requesting the public's assistance with identifying and locating the subjects of the photos attached to this request.

"On May 6, 2020, at 2135 hours, two subjects arrived at the Sheetz in a LIFTED 2006 Black Toyota Tacoma wearing hollowed-out watermelon rinds with holes cut out for the eyes into the store where they proceeded to commit a larceny."

Hilariously, if anyone has information about the crime and want to report it to the Louisa Police Department, they need to use the reference case 'MELON-HEADS'.

Even more hilariously, one person commented on the department's Facebook post with a picture of the two suspects at a different store.

Who knows whether it was the same day, but they're certainly wearing the same clothes as seen in the CCTv footage.

Since beginning their investigation, police have arrested one person. It's unclear whether they are still pursuing the other watermelon-wearing suspect in relation to the case.
