Greta Thunberg trolled Donald Trump as he left the White House for the last time.

The climate change campaigner couldn't help having one last dig at the outgoing President as he made his way to his home in Florida today.

Taking to Twitter, Greta shared a snap of the 74-year-old stepping onto the presidential helicopter Marine One on the White House lawn.

Tongue-in-cheek, the 17-year-old said: "He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"

It's safe to say that Greta and Trump aren't exactly best of friends, and have never seen eye to eye.

Over the past few years, the pair have taken a number of swipes at one another, going back and forth on social media.

In November 2020, the teen told the then incumbent President to 'chill' after he labelled the US presidential election a 'fraud' and that his rival Joe Biden had not won fairly.

At the time, he issued several tweets that included 'Stop the Fraud' and 'Stop the Vote'.

Responding to his claims, the Swedish activist said: "So ridiculous. Donald must work on his Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill!"

If that phrase sounds familiar, that's because it was actually written by Trump a year earlier about Greta.

In response to the teenager being TIME Magazine's Person of the Year in 2019, Trump said he didn't believe that she was deserving of the incredible accolade.

He said he thought she should 'chill out' and work out her 'anger management problem' instead of leading a global movement to raise awareness about the issue of climate change.

And when Greta made her passionate speech at the United Nations, Donald Trump quote tweeted an article, saying: "She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!"

In response, Greta changed her Twitter bio to that exact statement in an apparent dig at Trump's attempt to undermine her.

Greta's latest comments comes after Trump left the White House ahead of Mr Biden's inauguration later this afternoon, where he will become the 46th President of the United States.

Addressing a small crowd at Joint Base Andrews, before he was due to board Air Force One, Trump said: "We have the greatest country in the world, we have the greatest economy in the world, and as bad as the pandemic was [...] we did something that is really considered a medical miracle."

After thanking his family and his team, Trump also listed off his achievements while in office.

"Our vets are happy, our people are happy, our military is thrilled," he said.

"We also got tax cuts. The largest tax cuts and reforms in the history of our country by far. I hope they don't raise your taxes, but if they do, I told you so!"
