Awkward moment Donald Trump explodes at a CNN reporter as they questioned him live on air

Trump branded the news company as being 'fake'

Donald Trump has blown up at a CNN reporter after they questioned him live on air.

Trump’s scathing comments to reporters has been long documented since his time in office.

For example, earlier this month, he hit out at NBC reporter Yamiche Alcindor for asking if he was trying to war with Chicago.

He responded: "When you say that, darling, that's fake news."

He added: "I don't go to war with the Department of Defence. Listen, be quiet.

"You don't listen, you don't listen, you never listen. That's why you're second grade. We're not going to war, we're gonna clean up our cities. We're gonna clean them up so they don't kill five people every weekend. That's not war - that's commonsense."

Now, he’s gone after CNN for asking a question pertaining to his supporters and their feelings about him perhaps thinking of getting involved in another foreign war.

Trump has been pretty active in the Russia and Ukraine war, having attempted to broker a peace deal between the two.

He also met with European leaders to come up with a plan of action to help Ukraine escape further damage.

With tensions rising, it’s only natural to wonder if the US would become more involved if outright war was to ensue.

The news channel was branded 'fake news’ as the reporter was bashed.

The CNN reporter asked Trump if his supporters are concerned about the US getting involved in another foreign war.

Trump hit back, saying: "Oh, well it's fake news that fortunately nobody watches."

The reporter then tried to ask another question, but she was swiftly cut off by the POTUS.

He asked her: "Does anybody even watch CNN nowadays? I haven't seen it in a long time."

The reporter went for round three, when the 79-year-old asked: "Do you ever ask a positive question at CNN?"

Trump continued: "My supporters are more in love with me today, and I'm in love with them. More than they were even at election time where we had a landslide. We won all seven swing states. Did CNN report that? We won by millions of votes."

Fake news and the word 'fake' in general is a go-to for Trump to use when he is questioning the authenticity of something.

Recently, he said the same thing about the Wall Street Journal when what was reported to have been his happy birthday message to Jeffrey Epstein was released.

He claimed the message to Epstein did not come from him, and when the Wall Street Journal reported on it, he chucked a lawsuit against the company's owners.

Trump said: "This is not me. This is a fake thing. It's a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don't draw pictures of women. It's not my language. It's not my words."

As for CNN, people were not happy online, and suggested he was ‘not answering the question’.

One person wrote: "Way to answer the question Mr president."

Another wrote: "Just answer the question.”

A third said: "This is Trump's standard response when asked a question he doesn't like or can't answer - push back on the reporter or media organisation and deflect. He gets away with it every time."
