Olympian explains why her teammates have 'been forced to leave Paris Olympic Village' after just days

Five of her fellow athletes are no longer staying in the Olympic Village

US tennis star Coco Gauff has revealed that a whole bunch of her teammates have already moved out of the Olympic Village.

She's apparently the only Team USA women's tennis player left in the place after the rest of the crew packed up and moved to a nearby hotel.

Most of the athletes you'll see competing at Paris 2024 will be living in the Olympic Village for the duration of the games.

It's set up to house around 15,000 athletes, many of whom will be done and dusted with their events long before the closing ceremony is looming.

The village is full of facilities, food and things for the athletes to do with games rooms, coffee shops, a bakery and a barbers to keep them occupied and entertained.

However, some Olympians don't seem to be great fans of the amenities and that seemingly includes Gauff's teammates.

She posted a TikTok showing off what it was like in the village, and the video had '10 girls, two bathrooms' plastered across it while the accompanying soundtrack featured screaming voices.

All in all it doesn't seem like she and her fellow Olympic athletes were best pleased at the living arrangements, and five of them have taken the drastic step of moving out altogether.

Gauff responded to a comment from someone saying they'd go to a hotel, revealing 'all the tennis girls moved to a hotel except me' so now it's two bathrooms shared between five.

With the pressure on bathroom space alleviated the tennis ace has said she's got the room to herself and things are 'chill', but the US women's tennis team are far from the only athletes who decided to move out.

A team of six South Korean swimmers decided to skedaddle from the Olympic Village after saying the bus ride to the pool was too hot.

Meanwhile, others have criticised the conditions in the village as Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus said they were making it 'hard for her to perform'.

The food selection has been criticised, as have the cardboard beds which are apparently quite uncomfortable on a person's back.

Gymnastics whizz Simone Biles commented on TikTok that 'the bed sucks'.

Fortunately for Gauff, she said the archery team had provided her with a mattress topper which would help make her nights in the village more comfortable.

While some athletes have felt like they needed to leave the village, it's dangerous to go without getting permission.

A couple of Brazilian swimmers were caught sneaking out into Paris after they posted pictures onto social media, with one of them being sent home from the Olympics for responding in a supposedly 'disrespectful and aggressive manner'.

Swimmer Ana Carolina Vieira responded by saying her stuff was still in the Olympic Village and she was planning legal action once she got back to Brazil.
