England star Jordan Henderson has issued a statement after he hurt wrist celebrating his side’s win against Mexico putting him out of the World Cup.
Henderson wasn’t in the starting line-up and spent the match on the subs’ bench but he still managed to get himself a yellow card and a nasty injury.
Nonetheless he has now spoken of his pride at being part of a ‘special’ England team as he reflected on the night.
England’s clash against Mexico was a real nail-biter, with Jude Bellingham scoring two goals less than two minutes apart early on.

But the 2-0 lead was cut to 2-1 just ahead of half-time thanks to a goal from Mexico’s Julian Quinones.
There was more drama in the second half with Harry Kane scoring a penalty, followed by Raul Jimenez managing to do the same just 10 minutes later.

The game finished in a 3-2 win for the Three Lions and, as you’d imagine, the team were ecstatic.
Wanting to join in the celebrations at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium, Henderson hopped over the advertising hoardings but slipped and landed awkwardly on his arm.
Henderson received treatment on the field, but was seen being stretchered off.
Speaking to the BBC after the match, England boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Henderson had been injured and taken to hospital.
"Jordan just fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad," he said.
"It's a quite serious injury and it doesn't fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. The doctor told me he is in hospital."
It was later confirmed that the injury would put Henderson out of the tournament and its been reported he’ll likely need surgery.
Despite his injury, Henderson appears to still be delighted with the win and England’s progression to the quarter finals of the World Cup.
In a statement shared on Instagram, he wrote: “A night to remember that’s for sure! What an incredible performance against all the different challenges.
“So proud to be a part of this special team. Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday.”
Marc Guehi has also given an update on how Henderson is doing.
‘Hendo’s good,’ he said during an interview on the Lion’s Den.
“He’s in a better place than he was yesterday.
“It was obviously scary for him and his family and for everyone else, but we’re just glad that he’s on the road to a speedy recovery.”
According to the BBC, Henderson’s injury has prompted Tuchel to instruct his team to avoid jumping over the hoardings to try and prevent it from happening again.
England will now face Norway at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami at 5pm local time (10pm BST) on Saturday 11 July.
As well as Henderson not being fit to play, Jarell Quansah is also ruled out of the game after being given a red card during the Mexico match.
Meanwhile, Reece James has only been able to start the first two matches but is pushing to return from a hamstring issue against Norway.
