Luke Littler reveals what Rob Cross said to him on stage after darts semi-final victory

The 16-year-old beat Rob Cross by 6-2 in sets

Luke Littler has opened up on what Rob Cross said to him after he lost out to the teenage prodigy.

The 16-year-old history-maker has stunned the world after becoming the youngest-ever player to reach the PDC World Darts Championship final.

Last night (2 January), he got one step closer to achieving the unthinkable with a convincing semi final win over Rob Cross.

Littler made it look easy with a 6-2 win in sets, producing three 130-plus checkouts while averaging 106.05.

“I haven’t got the words. It’s crazy,” he said.

“I have just settled on that stage.

“It has not even sunk in yet.

“I have surprised myself.

“I have just got to stay focused and be Luke Littler.

“I have got to be mature and be myself.

“It would be unbelievable if I won it, I only wanted to win one match.”

Cross - who is 17 years older than Littler - went and had a humble word the 16-year-old after losing out on a final place.

Littler revealed: "He just said 'God bless, I respect you and do it.

"I have no words, it's just crazy, that I'm in a World Championship final on my debut. I was happy winning one game but I could go all the way.

"My target was to still be here after Christmas and now here I am in the final. I've just settled on the stage - once I find the rhythm, I'm good to go."

Littler is also on track to becoming a very wealthy man.

Having reached the final, he is guaranteed an eye-watering £200,000 - and if he manages to go all the way - he'll get a whopping £500,000.

However, it's not just Littler who will profit big from tonight's (3 January) final against world number one Luke Humphries.

Betting fans - who put as little as £10 on Littler to win the lot - managed to get in on ridiculous 300/1 odds.

Taking to X (Twitter), one better tweeted: "I had an each way bet for him to win the whole thing. I get paid regardless of what happens now."

"Fingers crossed he can do the job," a second added, while someone else said: "I’ve got him on 66/1 outright. Not taking the cash out as I’m not gonna lie, I had no idea who the lad was and slapped the bet on as a laugh knowing he was 16 years old, sticking by him now."
