Steve-O has frankly addressed why Bam Margera wasn’t in Jackass Forever, claiming how he 'just didn’t have the power to stay sober and be healthy'.

Margera was famously fired from the fourth Jackass film last year after failing a drugs test, something Steve-O said was ‘the first time Bam ever had consequences’.

Speaking recently on the Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson podcast, Steve-O didn’t hold back when talking about Margera’s substance abuse issues, but made sure to clarify he still ‘loves’ his former co-star and would even be speaking to him on the phone later that day.

“They [Jackass] f*****g loved him,” began Steve-O. “They cared about him. And it’s the same exact people who organised an intervention which saved my life.

"These people, they put their foot down, they said what’s happening has to f*****g stop and we’re going to do what we can to make it stop.”

He went on: “Bam had so many interventions, he was locked up in so many rehabs, and by the time we were making Jackass 4, they thought, maybe if we try this: ‘you can be in the movie if you get healthy and stay sober’.

“It was the last f*****g thing that they had to try. And with the promise of millions of dollars and ‘you’re gonna be in a movie’, even still, he just didn’t have the power to stay sober and be healthy.”

Steve-O insisted: “It was the first time ever that Bam had any consequences. Everybody would have loved to have him in the movie. It’d be better for the movie, everybody would love that.”

When asked by Tyson whether Steve-O felt that Margera had been playing the ‘victim card’, Steve-O flatly responded: “He has been. Absolutely. And I want Bam to acknowledge that. Everybody loves Bam and wants him to be happy and healthy and they put that in front of the movie.”

LADbible has approached Margera’s representatives for comment.

When the production of Jackass 4 kicked off, Margera’s involvement was never in doubt. However, he left the project early into shooting after allegedly testing positive for Adderall, in breach of his ‘wellness agreement’.

In response, Margera urged fans not to watch the film when it was released, saying at the time: “I wrote them so many ideas, and if I’m not in the movie and they use my ideas, how do you think that that’ll make me feel?

“The last thing I want to do is be in a courtroom with Jeff f******g Tremaine, I love him.

“F**k. I’m not in Jackass 4, if anybody cares about me don’t go see their movie because I will make mine way f*****g radder if you just Venmo me a dollar. Just a buck.”
