Calls have been growing to try and get Stranger Things' Eddie's song to the top of the UK charts.

If you haven't binge-watched the last two episodes of season four of Netflix's hit, supernatural series then, firstly; what have you been doing? And secondly, prepare for spoilers.

The last episode not only blasted out even more of Kate Bush's classic 'Running Up That Hill,' but it also saw another iconic tune played by Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn).

Viewers have since urged everyone to try and get the heavy metal song to number one on the UK charts.

Eddie picks up his guitar and plays himself out in one of his final scenes in the show with the song 'Master of Puppets' by Metallica.

Lit with a background of red lightning flashing through the sky, thundering clouds and an incoming mob of demonic and literally gut-wrenching bats, the scene sees Eddie face the wrath of Vecna's world head on.

The song's lyrics, with lines such as, 'Veins that pump with fear' and 'Dedicated to/ How I'm killing you' reflect the team's mission to try and kill Vecna once and for all perfectly.

Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo)'s fangirling in the background simply tops it all off.

Even more impressive is part of the guitar solo was actually performed by Quinn himself.

The actor told Esquire how he's played the guitar since he was a kid as well as having listened to 'Master of the Puppets' for 'like two years in a row,' so much so, it's his 'most listened to song on Spotify'.

However, he noted how he's 'by no means' kept up playing 'the whole time'.

"But it meant that I had the foundations there, but yeah, I went away and learned it. I'm an actor. I'm not a heavy metal guitarist. So I let this brilliant guitarist, Aiden, take care of the more complex fingering. And then yes, I did the rest of it.

"I had a bash. Who doesn't want to feel like a rock star for an afternoon?" he said.

In preparation for the solo, Quinn explained how he bought a guitar and 'started practising mechanically'.

"I just remember being completely kind of dumbstruck with the kind of... there is a very specific world in which something like that could exist.

"And [series creators Matt and Ross Duffer] have created that world in which it doesn't feel forced," he said.

The scene was the first Quinn shot after coming back from Christmas.

He said: "There was a feeling that the first time that people had seen live music in a long time. No one would want to hear [me play it live], but I practiced, and I learned the song.

"We had a backing track playing and the whole crew were just f**king jamming out and we were having a blast. I still feel tremendously lucky."

The song comes from Metallica's third studio album named Master of Puppets.

It was first released on 3 March, 1986.

It received widespread praise from critics and reached number 29 on the Billboard 200.

Calls have now been growing to get it to the top of the UK charts.

At the time of writing, 'Running Up That Hill' by Bush remains in top place.

A TikToker who goes by Will posted a clip of the scene on the platform.

The caption reads: "Don’t get me wrong, I love Running up that hill and glad we got it to the top but let’s bring this song to the top as well.

"Such an epic song and was perfect for Eddie to play!"

The post has amassed over 100,000 views, 10,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with users having flooded to the comments in support of the aim.

One user said: "Definitely one of the best Stranger Things moments."

However, opposed to the pop-rock genre of Kate Bush, another user expressed their doubt of a heavy metal song reaching the top spot.

"I doubt it will happen metal and rock are like forgotten about or are joked about around the younger generations which is sad, I'm a metal head myself," they said.

A third noted how getting the song to number one would act as justice for Eddie. They said: "Well yeah this deserves to be number 1 for Eddie."
